After lurking whilst starting to build up my CarPC, I thought I'd post. I'm using an AMD Geode LX based SBC (IEI Wafer LX-800) for buiding a CarPC and was originally planning to run a console-based Linux, hence the low spec processor. After some research, I found the WinXP options for frontend and GPS much more developed and switched over to XP.

I've been playing with RR for some time now, and given the low spec of my SBC (500 MHz P3 equiv), have noticed a few performance issues with RR.

I have read the FAQ on optimization, but I started wondering exactly where the bottlenecks are. Has anyone done any code instrumentation/profiling of RR to determine if there are any areas that could easily be optimized?

There are a number of good VB6 profiling tools out there that might be useful (e.g. aivosto, pdProfiler).

Just fishing for thoughts really.

Matthew.
