Hey, do I really need .NET 2.0 to make the HDZ300 work with RR and mitch's cable?
I just got mine... and tried to do the install for the radio software... I run XPE, and .NET is HUGE in an xpe environment...

But I'm fanless, diskless, xpe... I think I'm going to use dependency walker on the pcr exe and your dll, and copy over just the parts of .net that you directly link to.
Workable?
My entire xpe build is only a couple hundred meg. .Net20 by itself is larger !!!

there is so much advantange to a .net environment
too much to go into here, but managed code is much safer
now years ago, we had slow pcs and no memory, NOT anymore
and with the ngen (.net precompiler) .net is very fast
back on topic, have u updated the skins for the hd subchannels?

The point is, I don't want a hard drive and it's associated hassles. I want to stay all solid state.
However, I did bite the bullet and put together a xpe with .net20. It killed over 400meg of space total, but it's there and fits on my 512ata flash, with room for rr.. although I think it's going to be tight to get digitalfx3.0 on there as well... I actually got the pcrradio to function!! however, I never got it to the point where I didn't have to manually close the opening splash window... and now it doesn't power on.
I'm going to hook up the 'ugly' front end, to make sure my hdz300 didn't die. Sounded great for awhile!!! HD2 tuning and all.
EDIT:
I hooked up my ugly front end, hdradio is alive and well. Software didn't change - EWF sees to that, from where it was working to now it's not. It's a real serial port on a T5720, and it works correctly. so I'm scratching my head....
will head over to the mjs forum and see if there's any good info there.
512mb, not even a gig... geeze thats small
no wonder you are having issues
what exactly is "XPE"
windows embeded?
its prob something missing...
XML parser? something in .net framework

XPE is an acronym XP Embedded.
Its a super small windows environment custom built for specific hardware, and has tools such as EWF or "enhanced write filter" for making the OS read only to prep the system to run on flash memory. If you were to install a normal XP distro on a flash card, I would give the flash card a month or two before it is killed by continuous writes from XP.
My XPE OS image is 130mb, and is basically just the XP kernel, with only my exact drivers integrated, and a few services that are essential like the USB host, and a few dependencies for running RR as the shell.
Somehow, someway, guess God was on my side that night, I got .net to install on this os with no errors.
Here is what runs my whole system \/ , media is on a standard 80 gig 3.5 drive.
