Well i've just noticed that when playing an album from a folder with multiple albums by that artist i'm now only getting the first jpg found and not the one with the same name as the album...wierd,what have i screwed up now?
Example folder..
Eminem
The Slim Shady LP (album folder)
The Slim Shady LP.jpg
The Eminem Show (album folder)
The Eminem Show.jpg
Marshall Mathers LP (album folder)
Marshall Mathers LP.jpg
Encore (album folder)
Encore.jpg
Curtain Call The Hits (album folder)
Curtain Call The Hits.jpg
Playing any of the above just loads the cover for Encore which is alphabetically first.
Each album folder also contains Folder.jpg which matches AlbumName.jpg from the folder above.
In the past its always just shown folder.jpg when i've loaded the album.
I'd appreciate any help with this issue as i just can't figure it out.
I am using the latest beta but its not that cos i've also tried the last full release and the issue remains.
Am also using Freedom 2.1 skin which shouldn't be the issue either as it worked before.

so you have 2 .jpg's in each folder? I would delete the "album name".jpg and just use folder.jpg....RR might be getting confused, especially if you are using *.jpg as album cover file in RR config....not sure though, but it's worth a try...there's no need for 2 .jpg's in each folder.
well i just tried putting 2 .jpg's in a folder and it still displays fine, so I don't know. i guess make sure you have it setup right in the config/ini.. ie...*.jpg...you probably do though otherwise I don't think it would show any cover art.
Well it's never been an issue,
i know its an odd setup but if you have a cover window in your audio browser then it will show the first alphabetical cover for that artist as you scroll past it (or you can number them and show your favorite cover for that artist by making that cover 1.jpg)
Thats why i have it like that,but the audio player always just ignored those album name images and only loaded folder.jpg from within each specific album.
Now it seems to be looking at the folder above for album art,.

I have all of my album art named Folder.jpg. This way it works on most portable players, RR, Media Center ect. To diferentiate the images I have it set up like this, and as far as I know, is the most standard way to do it:
Eminem
Folder.jpg (Either your favorite cover, or a picture of the artist
The Slim Shady LP (album folder)
Folder.jpg
The Eminem Show (album folder)
Folder.jpg
Marshall Mathers LP (album folder)
Folder.jpg
Encore (album folder)
Folder.jpg
Curtain Call The Hits (album folder)
Folder.jpg
With it set up this way, as I scroll the root MP3 folder, I see the image in the root of that artist folder. When I go into the artist folder, and scroll down the list of albums, the image from each album folder will appear.

Could this be anything to do with vb runtime files or something cos even my good back -up is exibiting the same thing on the desktop pc.

Try music (page 1) on rrconfig (using blues version)
add: folder.jpg to the'album cover file'
as long as you have a folder.jpg in every album folder it should work fine.
The only other thing that springs to mind, is have the attributes changed on any of the jpeg files? ie: hidden? system? that would stop road runner from reading the jpeg files

Yeah i tried that but then it shows my NO ALBUM ART image instead.
Nothings changed image format or attribute wise so i'm completely baffled.

Right.
At some point WMP 9 has been run on my pc (not by me as i don't use it) but anyway it had the "update my media" tab ticked and as such updated all my music with hidden images of ****ty quality when it was last run and that was the cause of it all.
I just pointed it to my external HD which has a copy of my music folder and all is well again.

Make a batch file with this code
run it from the root of your music folderCode:attrib folder.jpg -h -s /s
that will reset the attributes
