What exactly do you guys do with OBD stuff? Just leave the scan tool connected all the time and read engine info?

    Something like this?

    Or this?

    Or maybe this?

21 bucks from Palmer performance. Void incorporates a built in embedding program. you also get to pick the parameters you want it to display (if your ECU supports them). You just have to come up with the gauge styles, but it's easy with the built in dashboard editor that comes with Dashcommand/PCMScan.

    Doesn't get much simpler...................or cheaper.....................

Dashcommand was even written to be touchscreen freindly, so it's got huge buttons and choosable colors.

You just need to buy an ELM based interface and you're good to go..............

(no, I don't work for them, just a satisfied customer)

oh **** i was going to cough up upto a hundred buck to see it developed the way id like (with the picture below being the main look, i wanted it to look like that then you know how with the VOID skin you can "hold down" a button and change it to another button, i wanted to do that with the gauges
    ideas?

PLUS where is this embedding program?

Well, that's just Dashcommand embedded into the void skin. Y0u can make your own gauge package but you are limited to embedding the program once and living with what you choose.

You could make mulitple dashboards with different screens, but that won't be a "one click" operation, unless you can make a script or macro for that. Dunno, not my feild..........

    To embed in void:
Press and hold the button you want, select one of the "empty" buttons and the embedding feature will start when you click that button. Then you just have to name the button, define the path and then the windows title name.

    Good to go............

Actually, it's file extention is .dxl, the basic gauges were made by the program creator and I'm in the process of modifying it to my tastes. It's very easy using the editor included with the program (dashxl I think it's called).

You can find the gauges in question by searching the forums for PCMScan if i recall.

Which fetures are you refering too?

The program will support whatever PID's your ecu will support (except for enhanced PID's such as airbag, ABS, etc). But you have to create the dashboard and define the pid's..............

Dashcommand isn't a scan tool either, you need to buy PCMScan or ScanXL to read DTC's, clear codes, record and chart sensor outputs, performance calculations, etc.....
