No video within RR. "Over w/builtin & STOP w/MPC. Help appreciated!

I've read every thread I could and searched relentlessly for the answer but to no avail so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

First off, I read Guino's video faq, installed ffdshow, used the suggestion settings and video using mpc outside of RR works flawlessly. The problem is getting video to work within RR and it doesn't matter what skin I use.
When I set it to use builtin, no matter what video I try to play, I always see "Over on the player tool bar (yes, with a leading double quote). When I specify to use media player classic, no matter what video I try to play, I always see STOP on the video player tool bar.

Any suggestions?

Have you told RR to support all the extensions your trying to play?
Do these vids play in mpc when not using rr?

He stated in the first message: "video using mpc outside of RR works flawlessly"....

As mentioned, make sure you associate all the video file extensions with RR, and it doesnt hurt to associate all of them in windows with MCP as well.

Also try deleting the video.ini in the RR root folder. Sometimes if this gets corupted, or a video that was last playing was deleted or moved, it will prevent RR from playing videos.

Yes, all the extensions are defined and the vids play perfect in mpc outside of RoadRunner

Here is a screen shot with MPC video specified in the configuration. You can see it displays STOP and there is nothing you can do and pressing buttons does nothing.

and here is a screen shot with built in player specified in the configuration. You can see it displays "OVER

No matter what video I try, it will not play inside RR and yes, it displays the same thing when using the default RR skin.

Do you have WMP installed? Not MPC. Actual Windows Media Player.

Yes, I tried that. Videos play fine in WMP also.

No I didn't so I just removed it and it didn't make a difference. (thanks for the suggestion though)

Have you ever noticed that when you start MPC, you see a quick, splash like video frame that displays 321 in large numbers? Well, when I first click video in RR and it defaults to try to play the last video, I see that 321 appear and disappear really fast but nothing after that.
