Dan, you embed it just like you embed any other application.. check faq section "how to embed an application". In VLC option, you can define your own keys how you want vlc to behave, then use sendkey to map your buttons.
I am really trying to get VLC to work in DFX4 how did you embed it in RR? I am very interested in this. Any help would be appreciatted.

There is a VLC RR plugin.

Sal, did you ever get it to work? I gave up on it cuz i couldn't get it to work at all... and player run as standalone instead of being integrated...
Does this or any other plugin allow the use of VLC instead of the built in player in Road Runner? Basically I have a bunch of video files that won't play in anything but VLC and can't find the codecs to fix it. So I figure if everything looked the same as it does now but it used VLC behind the scenes instead of whatever it uses now, that would work.

Have you checked out the VLC plugin in thread?
It's pretty well integrated...

I did that first and read this from that post:
Since I don't use those features I took his advice and came here. Should I go back and try his plugin? I want something I don't have to customize to work, just install and go.I have seen that brandensin has embedded the vlc program into rr and used the hotkeys to control it. The problem I found with this is that its hard to load files and there is no playlist functionality. If these issues aren't a problem for you the I recommend this method instead of my plugin. see http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...73-mpc-rr.html post 10.

It's worth a look.
It's pretty much replaced the built-in player, more cpu friendly, and plays pretty much everything I've thrown at it.
The only thing is that it doesn't not remember the last played position...which can get annoying.

Okay, so when you hit VIDEOS in your skin, it plays them the same way with the same play/previous/next buttons from the skin? And then goes full screen like it's supposed to?
