    Well, you gotta make a skin for it first to utilize the commands listed in the thread and change the "VIDEO" command, but yeah, it works like its supposed to.

    Like with most plugins, gotta skin it.

    What do you mean skin it? I'm running Carwings Dynamic, what would I need to do besides installing the plugin?

    Create a button to run the exe.

    i.e.
    BXX,...,"RRVLC",""

    ExecTBL.ini
    "RRVLC","LOAD;RRLVC.skin;RUN;<pathtorrvlc.exe>\rrv lc.exe;rrvlc.exe

    RRVLC.skin has button codes to play, ffwd, frwd, etc.

    Have to create a skin for it.

    That will play everything you throw at as well.. He did a great job making the whole thing integrated into rr apearancewise..

    Hi Brandensin

    I have generic DVB-T USB Dongle (unsupported by native RR) which works perfectly in VLC by having each TV Station individually in an xspf Playlist file. Given that it's several years on from this thread and maybe the RRVLC plugin is better than it was, if you were in my position, would you go with your method or go with the RRVLC plugin to run your VLC Playlist ? Will the plugin only play AVI's or will it do anything that VLC will do on it's own ?

    Thanks

    C

    His last post was 10-7-2009 so you likely won't get a response... buy hey, you never know. I don't have a suggestion to your question but maybe someone else will chime in on this.

    It's OK, I read through the VLC Plugin thread and found details in posts #100 and #104 that VLC support is now embedded within RR.

    Therefore, all I needed to do was to run the RRCONFIG, set Video to use VLC, set the correct path to my Playlist files and then add .xspf to the list of file types supported. I originally had a single playlist with all TV stations (like the one listed below) but I could not simply jump from one station to another so I then just made a separate file for each TV station and so was able to then use the |<< and the >>| buttons on my screen to jump between stations.

    So, in short, you do NOT need to buy specific DVB-T USB Dongles.

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <playlist xmlns="http://xspf.org/ns/0/" xmlns:vlc="http://www.videolan.org/vlc/playlist/ns/0/" version="1">
