CD's and CDDB Question.

So my system's set up to switch to the audio screen when a disk is inserted and that all works fine (Thanks JohnWPB) but unless its a home made cd with cd text added it just say's "track1",2,3 and so on.

So if i understand the CDDB correctly its used to import that CD Text when ripping (somebody correct me if i'm wrong).

Right onto my question....can the CDDB info be pulled when inserting a cd and used to update the track listing for the playing CD?

It seems like a no brainer,could make a nice feature if its possible.

very possible, and is on my "todo in this century list", LOL).

i'm very sure winamp has this, you just need to turn it on, when the disk is loaded a simple "RELOADLIST" command will update RR's playlist, give it a try might work.

Inet in car is needed unless you DL the whole db to use as a local copy. I've read it several times on here, but thats about as much as I can give, can't remember any thing else bout it...

Ok i've got a little further with this.

I Dl'd a cddb plugin for winamp and it pulls the cd info from the DB but i seem to be having trouble getting a result from rr.

I tried "reloadlist" and nothing at all happens so i had a quick read of skincommands.txt and see that there's also "reloadlistex" which should get extended playlist info from winamp and that sort of worked for half a second.

"reloadlistex" loaded the added info but as quick as the list updated the new info vanished in place of "Track1,2,3 like before or at best leaves the info for the playing track but not the rest.

I really need to figure this out.

EDIT: Anyone know how flash skins pull the playlist info?
Are they constantly calling "reloadlist"?

I wouldn't think so as that would be the sloppy way of doing that..

Flash skins bring to mention try askin sonic?

Yeah thats what i thought but i can't figure out which part of RR is overwriting my updated list.
While i'm here,You know when you want to send a command to RR you can just open quotes and type the command,closed quotes and hit enter?
Is there anyway to send the command without having to hit enter?
While in the Audio screen there's obviously a track highlighted and enter restarts the track as well as completing my typed command and i'm not sure if thats confusing things.

Well i'd kinda hoped some more people would have some input on this but i guess not.
