Sorry for the long posts Im tired and fingers glued to keyboard....
Like you Blue, I have been a part of this community for a long time. My first post was defintely not my first involvement. I started up on this MP3car idea wen I got the idea that putting a 10 disc changer in my car was a waste since my huge collection of mp3s downloaded from napster (downloaded at 33.6 KBPS) could be put to better use. So I bought a Clarion AutoPC in 2001 It had GPS, MP3 Player, Note taker, Cell Phone inegration the whole deal and open source developement. Well after that product was no longer being developed I googled and hit mp3car.com. Wow what an idea a computer in the car. So my addiction began. The mp3car store was nothing more than a front for selling a few shutdown controllers bumper stickers and maybe a screen or two. Most were buying things on group buys and creating there own ideas. Media Engine was the coolest front end which was later followed by mediacar and frodoplayer.
3 main people ran mp3car.com and One guy did the store. I was impressed at the community involvement, the things people were coming up with and what the future had to bring. It has come a long way since then and will go a lot further.
So this is what I know of RR as well. I saw it from the very infancy. And watched as it grew. I am only hoping that this project will not die as the others have. It is too good for this too happen. Plust what else is there....

Bird York -- In The Deep --
From my understanding, MediaCar stopped dev and went dead. Guino came along, and started a NEW front end that worked with the existing MediaCar skins. This was to take advantage of the existing skins, and move forward from there. MediaCar was needed in the skins, till fairly recently, so that all the media car skins would work. It has been long enough now, that none of those original skins are in use any longer, thus that need was removed.
The RRGAs plugin works just fine.
However there is an issue with the plugin Indicator return code in the source, which was introduced in the release/beta after the 26th October 07 release.
Basically it seems that only the last plugins indicators will work because when it receives an indicator request it doesn't recognise it will return a false, which then overides any other values the previous plugins may have passed.
This is an issue with your source as it started in the binary that came out after the 26th October 07 one. Mitchjs's release was not affected by this as he was working off the 26Oct source (I believe)
Oh and TS, That baby must be smoking waccy baccy _
Guys I got to say that while I am a newby with a SH--load of stuff here to install into his car, RR never ceases to amaze me as whenever I find a problem there is a solution. Might take long time searching to find the answer.
I was a bit dismayed to see that development was slowing, but it looks like it is all there now and the plugin route seems to be the answer. If ony this was better documented as I am writing some custom stuff.
Now if only somebody could help me RUNW a silent program I have written that raises no dialogs when exiting a skin, I'd be very happy as I would have topgraphical maps and streetnav in my car overnight!
Keep up the good work!
still no wmp support........
The best resurrected frontend I've ever used, period.
