Please help a noob get RR working for the first time!

Sorry for being a typical noob... but I've been lurking/learning for a week now. I like to think of myself as computer competent... but im having a little trouble getting Road Runner to work right.

I installed the Road Runner Beta 5/27/08.
Then used the updated RR Config from Blue ZX3

Strange enough, if I use the RR Config in the RR file (c:\Program Files\RoadRunner) I get an error that says: Line -1 Error... Unable to execute the external program.

When I use RR Config from the location where I initially downloaded it to (c:\my documents) it opens up (with the devcon.exe message) and seems to function properly.

Any ideas?

IF you only downloaded the beta, you don't have all the files.

Download the RR installer from here; http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...r-updater.html

Then copy the files from the beta archive into the Road Runner directory. Then run rrconfig from that Road Runner directory.

I downloaded and installed again, left the beta alone this time. Same error. I also noticed when I run the RRconfig outside of the RR folder, at the language select screen there are maps. When I move the RRConfig into the RR folder, and I open it up and get the language screen, no maps. Strange...

RoadRunner should be Road Runner (with a space)

yeah the road runner directory has a space... what else should I try?

stupid question, are you running Vista?
try Disabling User Account Control (UAC)

I seem to remember getting that error before I got peeved
and formatted my hard drive back to XP
