Mitch, do you know if Guino has any plans to release the complete RoadRunner binary set on his page so "New" installations do not require downloading installing the "12-06-07 Binary Only" build and then applying the Mitch Release on top of it?
Thanks for all the hard work I will give this a shot.
Mitch, quick question I am already using your new DLL's is there a problem with running the installer or will it just copy / replace everything..
Thanks

I dont have the issue with the slider. And i can tell you right now that the iLists have not been touched by mitch and i DOUBT guino changed anything with them in this release. I would recommend you disable ALL plugins, and check for these issues again because non-compliant plugins could be causing all sorts of issues. All of my plugins will be updated today, and i know that blue's media plugin is just around the corner
Do you not already have .net 2.0 installed? registering the .dlls without the hardware will make NO difference speedwise to RR. I've been testing this for months now and once they're registered they're reg'd for life. I can understand your relunctancy to download .net, but if you already have it them .dlls are no big deal whatsoever
See above. Mitch can explain alot better than i about why they need to be registered but whats the big deal? We're trying to move forward with improving RR and mitch has done that. Anyone who's been working with him or using his builds can attest to that.
the installer will copy ur existing RR.exe as a backup, write the new rr.exe and overrite all of the mjsgadgets folder. If u've regg'd the files before you wont need to do it again (even though the installer does this for you). I've tested the installer and it doesnt harm anything inside the RR folder so its safe to use
This is an OFFICIAL MJS release, however guino see's it as another beta because he did not compile nor update any documents. I dont think we'll see another official until this version is thoroughly tested.

Like I said I probably have, but if I haven't I don't want to have to go load a whole load of MS sh^t for something I won't use.
I'm all for moving forward, but I think it's a backward step making the main exe more dependant on stuff it may not need.
We need less stuff in the source and more as plugins which can be installed if and when they need to be used.
Can't we have all the Sirus, XMRadio and HD as external plugins just like the other plugins we have and then they only need to be installed, registered if the user requires that function.
I prefer the ease of just dropping the new exe into my Road Runner folder without having to use an installer, the same with skins, makes transferring from one PC to another a lot easier especially when you do a lot of testing on different PC's.
Ok, after a reboot, iLists started working... Not sure why they weren't before. My sliders will only work if I disable the remedia plugin... I guess I need to make sure I have the latest?

dmistry, i would think so on the binary release
I will work on a NEW BASE installer
one step at a time!!
just use the installer... it takes care of everything...
NO changes in the .dlls, but no harm done using installer
it will replace...

barnyard, wait for the NEW updated RRMEDIA PLUG IN!!
enforcer, its NOT happening, its a issue with VB6.. if you want to move forward, install .net
you dont have to use the installer, this installer is NOTHING like WINDOWS INSTALLER(MSI)
its lightweight, and simple... install it to another dir... get the files out, and uninstall it
then you can do what ever you want with the new files
but RR will not run, unless XMCOMM.dll is registered, and since XMCOMM.dll is written in .NET, you need .net
PEROID

enforcer, how about you rewriting the whole thing(move all the XM/SIRIUS/HD code out of the main program (its in alot of places))... and then we can move the radios to plugins.. when you get RR rewritten, let me know
LOTS of sarcasm...
its just not happening by me, if u dont know, i dont have a carpc, i dont use RR at all
no code is ran in XM, if you dont have XM(XMPORT=0), but the TYPE is referecnec and VB6 needs to know the TYPE
therefore XMCOMM.dll is required, END OF STORY
and by NO way are we "making the main exe more dependant" its JUST HOW VB6 needs a TYPE Reference
to elim, i have to spend 2 hours on my XMCOMM.DLL and its not happening at this point! if you dont understand, its a programming thing, and it is what it is.

Like John said, ther will be alot of this does not work and this is broken, that is only on the plugin side. The solid slider or any other slider don't work with RRMedia, Milage and MotionLock. Maybe some more, those are the one I am using and they don't work. If disabled in Menu.skin the sliders are working. So, please wait for those to be updated.
Don't Worry, be happy
