And for my new problem, I think it is new to this release... I did have to switch from "RoadRunner" to "Road Runner" directory, so perhaps I need to update the winamp dll registration... off to the forums!

i do trap it, but it takes TIME, and that seems to hang the code that is running in VB6, and kills the hibernation code... many hours spent on it

let just be logical here, the RADIO need to be on when the PC is ON
nothing more, nothing less, besides the PC controls the POWER of the radio
no harm, wiring it up to constant!

directory dont matter, just browse to the right place at install

I'd like to show my appreciation for what mitch has tried to do for us here and I don't even have any of the radio's and also the fact that he's somewhat willing to make a non requirement version.

I do take the side of the non requirement though and just foresaw this being a huge issue when I found out about it, before it was even released.

There are probably several "native" features that should be removed and made into plugin's, one comes to mine...the broken reminders feature. I have created a plugin that does this and is ~90% complete, with testing and some final tweaks still needed.

That's what I was talking about, remove the old old old old broken native stuff, and in theory the program should only have what is globally used as necessary to run, and any extras as plugins.

Well here's my .02

First of all, I think most of the comments that have been posted have merit, and deserve their due justice.

Thanks should go to Mitch for updating how XM, Sirius, and HD radio support is handled by RR, I do not know if any of his changes have improved how quickly the other FM radios function. The only benefit to Mitch is in his ability to sell cables for connecting the HD radio, which sounds like may become hard to source.

Mitch programmed things the way he wanted, doesn't mean you have to use it. He has stated he will spend more time to make a version that does not require .net, that's not going to help him sell any more cables.

It will be interesting to see what Guino does with the next full release.

After all of this I would recommend to him that he removes all specialized hardware and radio support, and require plugins be created for them all. This might be a step backwards as when the plugin fired up it might affect how quickly the radio would respond and start playing, but would really clean up how specialized hardware is supported.

Then individuals would have to decide if they wanted to use hardware based upon its plugin requirements. I remember seeing a plugin that required .net 3!

Has anyone across the pond tried the HD radio to see how well it functions over there in its analog mode? It's a much cheaper solution than the HQCT.

i thought i dropped a note to guino awhile ago to remove reminders but i'm not sure if it was done. I'll talk to mitch about this though because you're right that definitely should not be in there documented or not.
