lol you guys just KILL me here. No one HAS to use the installer, no one HAS to use a build thats been released sense 10/2007. Mitch is here doing nothing to making HUGE contributions to the software we all use and love, and yet with each step in a positive direction he makes he gets more and more criticism. First it was the .net issue, which hey if you dont want to install .net on your computer more power to you, but its an ancient compiler that gives us developers FITS in performing the most basic of functions. So mitch went back and re-wrote weeks or working code for compatibility concerns. Next he creates a WORKING and SUPPORTED RR installer to make it EASIER for new comers to actually use RR... and now there's MORE criticism about which skin he chose to install. BMV2 is outdated, unsupported and bloated... carwings is quite the opposite. There is a VERY small percentage of people that use bmv2. What real difference does it make which skin is included in the installer? If you want to use bmv2 download it like any other skin. I understand some people are just reluctant to change regardless of if its good or bad, but its to the point here where its just impossible to make improvements without complaints. Why cant people acknowledge that "old" RR is no more and we're lucky to have anything new at all at this point. He didn't remove bmv2 to dictate how you use RR he removed it because it basically doubled the size of the installer.. and for basically no reason. Many people enjoy what mitch is doing for RR, and he's backed by Guino obviously so what exactly is the big deal with change?
hey mitch i dont know how i didnt notice this in the testing of the installer, but could you add a "plugins" folder inside of RR root so that there's a single dedicated spot for plugins to be installed/registered from. I'll be on MSN in a bit if u need more info
