The reason I want to know what every step the installer is doing is because I have so much customization of my system I want to know what is getting changed. For example, you say if I install the Carwings it also installs the Movietimes and RRCam. O.K. that's a start, but where are they installed and what versions. Do I need to delete my old folders cause its now in the \Road Runner\Plugins directory that I'm not currently using?
I found nowhere in this thread any statement that the skin commands.txt was or was not updated. Is there one? I like writing my own RRCode as much as the next person, but lately only a select few know what the new commands/labels/variables are. Maybe, I too, could benefit from knowing what new functions are now available in the source. Guino and I took a month back in early 06 to layout all the changes and additions to the source from its inception and it had been maintained till he moved. Then there was the source code wars and everything fell apart. Now that the source has once again been melded into one, we need a new skin commands.txt with all the info necessary to use all aspects of the current source. I am stating to feel like Enforcer and Valheru, since I'm not in the select few, I just have to take what I'm given.
I don't know if you saw my other thread on changing labels based on active audio source, but Chuck, JohnWPB, and I were working on code that set certain parameters based on the current audio source. Guino and I talked about getting this updated and into the source a long, long time ago but nothing ever came of it. He and Nomader discussed skin specific commands in EXECTBL.INI, but never elaborated on actual usage. And now with so many audio sources available, I guess it will never be totally integrated, but something as simple as blanking TAGALBUM when FM or Internet Radio is active should be simple. Or changing TAGALBUM to XMSTATION when XM is the active source or SRSTATION when Sirius is active.
