I don't know what all the drama is about but I the installer was a really good thing for me especially being new to this car pc thing. I installed it and it seems to be working fine now with CPU usage averaging between 19-26%. before it was 78-100% and always locking up and I had no idea why. So thanks a lot for this installer!

The reason I want to know what every step the installer is doing is because I have so much customization of my system I want to know what is getting changed. For example, you say if I install the Carwings it also installs the Movietimes and RRCam. O.K. that's a start, but where are they installed and what versions. Do I need to delete my old folders cause its now in the \Road Runner\Plugins directory that I'm not currently using?

I found nowhere in this thread any statement that the skin commands.txt was or was not updated. Is there one? I like writing my own RRCode as much as the next person, but lately only a select few know what the new commands/labels/variables are. Maybe, I too, could benefit from knowing what new functions are now available in the source. Guino and I took a month back in early 06 to layout all the changes and additions to the source from its inception and it had been maintained till he moved. Then there was the source code wars and everything fell apart. Now that the source has once again been melded into one, we need a new skin commands.txt with all the info necessary to use all aspects of the current source. I am stating to feel like Enforcer and Valheru, since I'm not in the select few, I just have to take what I'm given.

I don't know if you saw my other thread on changing labels based on active audio source, but Chuck, JohnWPB, and I were working on code that set certain parameters based on the current audio source. Guino and I talked about getting this updated and into the source a long, long time ago but nothing ever came of it. He and Nomader discussed skin specific commands in EXECTBL.INI, but never elaborated on actual usage. And now with so many audio sources available, I guess it will never be totally integrated, but something as simple as blanking TAGALBUM when FM or Internet Radio is active should be simple. Or changing TAGALBUM to XMSTATION when XM is the active source or SRSTATION when Sirius is active.

Gizmoq, its a inno installer, try googling inno setup log

there is plenty of documentation, look in the documentation folder

i have no idea what the directory "road runner\plugins" is its not mine
why dont u install and see what happens, its so easy

rename ur existing RR install dir, and install this... its not that hard

feel free to make a new skin commands.txt, its one thing to say we need it, but its more important that someone does it...

every NEW skin command, label, var and such are documented, in the documentation directory (if i didnt miss any)

and if u dont want to use ACTIVESOURCEID, dont, its just a user var
take a look at carwings, menu.skin

your asking too much, your welcome to help me at any time...
but the good news is im basicly done
    -Thanks

    I googled, I learned about inno, I searched my temp directories, I can't find a "setup.log."

This is the first I've heard of the documentation directory. Based on this directory, it is inferred that nothing has changed between 12/06/07 and your 09/23/08 build, but we all know better. So I still don't know what the new features are and without that knowledge I can't write a new skin commands.txt. I'd be more than willing to do it, but I don't have the sources from the two dates mentioned above to know what's changed and I don't know VB6 programming so even if I did I wouldn't know where to start.

ACTIVESOURCEID sounds like just the standardization and internal RR Variable we were looking for.

I'm always asking too much, if I don't who will. Its just my nature. When I see things needing fixing and don't know how to do it myself, I seek out the prominent expert, make a suggestion, and hope for the best. Unfortunately, when it comes to RR, I'm mostly ignored or the thread dies. At least you respond before you ignore me.
