"Did you test it in carwings??"
Sun, Come shine my way
May healing waters bury all my pain
Wind, Carry me home
The fabric of reality is tearing apart
The piece of me that died
Will return To live again
I think what's screwing me up is my directory list somehow. This is the progression of my skin
menu.skin --> video.skin --> a DVD button that plays DVD directly through video_player.skin or a BROWSE button that brings up a directory list of my vidoes as video_browser.skin. When I click play on those videos it opens in Winamp. How do I make it open to video_player.skin when I click on the file?
If you open VIDEO files from the DVD player screen, then all bets are off... there has been no development or testing for this kind of functionality. Similarly, if you open the DVD from the VIDEO player screen, you're on your own..
If you're on the VIDEO player and want to go DVD player, I would suggest you execute "MAIN||DVD" and if you're on the DVD player and want to go to the VIDEO player, you should execute "MAIN||VIDEO" -- this is so "EXIT" doesn't throw you around from one player back to the other when exiting the screen, but if you don't use "EXIT" (i.e. by exiting with "MAIN") then you can call "DVD" or "VIDEO" directly to switch from one to another...
I'm not sure that's quite the issue because I'm able to play DVDs from the DVD player (button command "DVD" with MPC embedded in "video_player.skin") but when I'm trying to play a video it's from a skin I called "video_browser.skin" with a directory list command (S,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx..etc) because I want it to list all available videos. When I click on one it opens in Winamp. How do I change what happens when I click on the video in the directory list?
You MUST execute the VIDEO command so RR switches to VIDEO MODE -- otherwise, if you're not in video mode, the SELECT command (default for folder lists) will think it's a SONG -- that's why you're getting winamp (and loosing your playlist). Before doing anything in video_browser.skin, you should execute VIDEO or you may get unexpected results.
You can check the current "mode" by reading the ACTIVESOURCE label code.
You can override the default dbl-click actions in the video browser thru exectbl.ini:
I'm in that stage now where I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry. haha.
I can get it to switch to the video_player.skin but I can't get it to play. I want it to play automatically, but even the play button doesn't do anything.
I lost the ability to play DVDs now. It's doing the same thing, going to the DVD screen (video_player.skin) but not playing and that was working earlier. I'm going to clean up my code a bit and see if I can figure out what's going on. I'll get back to you.
Thanks for your help.
