RoadRunner Unicode Issues

Mitch, while at it.. i am gonna ask you for a consideration.. I don't think RR is fully unicode compliant.... There have been number of people saying the lack of RR able to display foreign characters when song's titles are not English based... I know Ilist doesn't do well displaying non english characters... Would you take look at this too when you have a chance? I mean winamp doesn't have any problem displaying non-english characters.. i just wish RR does that too..

Im not sure what you mean, since im not using unicode myself...
as for tags, i would enable WINAMPS load tags option, then RR will get its tags from WINAMP and not parse them itself...
maybe that help?

i think most people dont know about the option to use "WINAMPs" tags
i didnt till a few days ago, when gunio and i talked about the winamp.dll

guiono did some unicode support last year and since i haven't had a single problem reading greek tags..and believe me next to chinese..greek is trouble to display..

illist designed by me

and the title in the upper part is actually flash.. (RR sends greek to flash OK as well)
what problem do you have?
r u using a unicode font ? (century gothic, arial, tahoma etc.. will be fine)

How did you manage to get greek characters displaying? I'm currently having problems to display them in any of the available skins (eg DigitalFX). I've tried many of the tricks provided as possible solutions in this forum but no luck...

Tried it out, but embedded albumart did not show using the indicator codes on my skin.

nomader,

mainly korean, some Japs...... It somewhat works.. but it gets cut off... Doesn't show the full title.. Now when displaying them on non-ilist, just regular label, it displays full... maybe it has to do with memory size for title??? maybe greek takes less space.. i don't know.. by the way, even though they are very different, i don't think there's not much difference between greek and english in RR except a few different characters.....

spawn, i confirmed it... i ended up using J tag.. it works..
