bikeboy24, is the playlist file allowed to write?

    winamp.m3u

    in the winamp dir

a -1, is being written, if winamp cant supply the playlist position

the problem your having is prob unique to ur setup... so you will prob end up
    solving it yourself
    its prob a HORM issue
and i have NEVER seen a EWF/HORM setup
    good luck!
    -Thanks

Yes, winamp is in the unprotected drive. I've also installed 2.95 so that it does not save the winamp.m3u file in the protected drive.

I can turn off HORM and EWF, and I'd still have the same issue with shutting down and resuming.

so, add some songs to playlist
and look at the contents of winamp.m3u
then go into another source, like sat, or radio
then back to menu, then exit program
    look at the resume.ini
    -Thanks

The trick with this is how do you script this to run automatically when the shutdown command it sent via the power button. I'm not aware of a way to get windows to run a script or command prior to shutdown.

I have an idea that I'm going to explore. I think it's possible to use hibernate trigger to intercept the shutdown processes and run a script to properly close RR and then shut the computer down.

I'll report back once I'd had a chance to play with it.

Update: I found a program that should do the trick. It's called Last Chance, and you can get it here; http://www.fileware.com/public/lchance.exe

Basically what it does is intercepts the shutdown call and then allows you to run a program, batch file or script before allowing windows to shut down.

Now I just need to figure out how to write a script to close out Road Runner properly.

    Machinehead,
This should be easy enough in AutoIT. I did one that sends the RR hibernate command. My system wouldn't shutdown and come back properly from within Windows, only from within RR.

I'll send code when I get home.

    Machinehead,
This is the AutoIT script that I use. I use ShutControl, so when it detects the power is cut from my laptop, it runs the .exe and Hibernates properly from within RR.

    Code:
;create SDK for COM with RR. This must be done ONLY once per script
    $rr = ObjCreate("RoadRunner.SDK")

;replace COMMAND with your RR command
    $rr.execute("HIBERNATE")
Save it as an .exe using AutoIT, then call that .exe with your newly found program, and you should be good to go.

Note: I wasn't the original writer of that code, it was someone else on the boards, I just can't remember who.

That works like a charm, thank you.

For anyone else, change HIBERNATE to EXIT. Done and done.
