Wow, all I can say is thank you! I don't think I could put into words how grateful I really am. The community of people here in the forums never cease to amaze me. If anyone makes a donation, please also email me at JohnWPB at my gmail dot com account with your forum user name.
THIS is the original thread my room mate started when I was in the hospital. I didnt honestly know he would know how to get to this site and post hahah he is not that computer literate
I was able to go to the towing lot today and get my personal items out of the car. I took a few photo's while I was there. I have absolutely no memory of the accident, so needless to say, seeing the car shook me up pretty good just how bad it was, and how lucky I was able to come away with a few fractured ribs, bruised lung and a concussion. It certainly could have been a lot worse by seeing just how bad the car was. The engine was jammed back so hard, that the firewall crushed my head unit and motorized LCD screen, and there was oil on the drivers floorboard inside the car.
Everything is pretty much a total lossMy motorized LCD in the dash was destroyed, as well as the computer when it flew out of the hatch back and smashed into the back seat at around 40 MPH. The serial temperature board, Power controller & the fusion brain were also all crushed.
Unfortunately I only had PIP insurance, so only my medical is covered, not my car or the contents. (I found out this morning that the semi driver had no injuries at all thank God).
I also got some pretty bad news, that the accident itself may have been my fault. I will not know till the accident report is completed within 5-7 business days. At this point I have no idea what-so-ever what happened , as I have no memory at all of the accident. The good thing is I found out today that they did a blood alcohol test at the hospital. The results were negative, and this at least proves that I had not been drinking, and that alcohol had nothing to do with the accident.
Here are a few photo's.
Here is what she looked like about 2 months ago:
And after the accident Friday night:
Here is another view, looks like the car pretty much bent in half! Keep in mind, that door is closed and the windows is all the way up!
EDIT:
Ok, I got a chance to look through the bin at the stuff a friend of mine retrieved from the car. What a mess. This is whats left of a CarPC, Parrot Bluetooth Phone device, remote start alarm, the motorized touchscreen, and lots and lots of cables! Not really sure if any of it is salvagable, as many of the wires had to be cut, as they were crushed between the dash and the firewall and could not be fished out.
