RoadRunner, Vista and you (Audio thread)

Been testing this with mitch, and have a build based on x64 vista that is working perfect!

Mitch did a VNC session on my PC to play with the code, was quite interesting watching him work.

Keep up the great work guys, as my next carpc will run vista (well tiny vista anyway )

Any more testing needed let me know.

What about if your running 2 sound cards? Will this work with 16 channels?

So does this mean that RR volume control will work in vista now? I'm just trying to get RR on my vista PC but no volume control. Using the program I get

Speakers / Headphones - Volume:100 Mute:False

Line 1-Speakers Mute=False Volume=91

What does this mean? Can anyone help me out here?

Windows 7 boots up 20% faster, and is much more optimized. It also takes all the crap out of Vista and makes them free addons.

Fair warning though Windows 7 is NOT public yet. If you have it, you are a beta tester or pirated it. If you pirated it, then that is illegal and any discussion of it will result in a ban on this forum. If you are a beta tester and install it in your car as well, you're breaking your beta agreement which is illegal as well.

So code for Windows 7 is Vista for now on. Since most are going to dump vista for Windows 7 anyway and Windows 7 and Vista share a alot of the same features....

Windows 7 is like a stripped down version of vista though, it's far faster / more lightweight. I think win7 is going to be the next "xp"

exactly. The core is exactly the same. Which proves that Vista can do it to with the correct "lite-ing" of it which will probably come eventually.

I'm running a vLite'd version of Vista (not SP1) with CF...
Works great except for issues with a couple of 3rd party plugins.
I can't stress enough, for any OS, disable 3D hardware acceleration and use just the MS provided VGA Display Driver!!!
