    FM stationList

    Hi,
As I tavel a lot here in Brazil, I'd like to know if is it possible to implement into RR a few lines of code (I dont know if it is the correct way to do it) or something else which allow us to choose what city we are (maybe via gps) and load its radio's stations (for example: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lista_d...os_brasileiras). So, we can make a huge list of all radio stations and put it into the radio.ini file. Then, when we travel to another city we could just load their 'stationlist'.
What do you think? or no one use radio anymore?

You could always create a function using RRCode that copies over the radio.ini for each city.

Hey Chuck and JohnWPB need sone super coders over here for a new exectbl.ini function to change radio presets based on GPS location. I may give it a stab this weekend cause I thought about doing something like this last year when I was traveling extensively, this year I've been lazy.

This is probably dooable. A little bit of googling, and scraping, I was able to come up with this. It's a CSV of all radio stations in the United States. It has the Stations call sign, Frequency, State, City, Latitude and Longitude. The Lat and Lon are unfortunately in Hours/Minutes/Seconds.

It would probably be fairly simple to use your Current Lat and Lon from GPS, and set a radius of say 40 miles, and get all of the stations within that radius returned.

    Wow!!!

I dont think we have a file containing this kind of detail here in Br. But, if you plan to do it, please, make this also available for none gps stations, I mean city selectable by users. If not, I'll help to build a list with main brazilian fm stations !!!

I've added support to loadlist in radio mode so you'll be able to make multiple radio.ini files (one for each city you like) -- you'll only need to follow radio.ini file's format (1st line is the default frequency, 2nd line forward are the station frequency and name separated by comma)

    Great!!
But, Is it possible to switch between radio.ini's files into the RR instance? or we need to rename them and rerun RR?

A propósito, você está em Vitória/ES???? se estiver, poderíamos marcar um choppinho, gostaria de te conhecer (no bom sentido e sem viadagem, é claro!!!)

    Canadian data is available here.

Let me know if anyone is working on this and needs the data extracted to a more usable format.
