it still easy to update every 3 months, u do put new music on your car pcs dont you?

just update to 6/1/2009 version, and then u can never update again, u will see a nag, when u start... but its not so bad now... if u can live with that, u dont have to update anymore, if you cant, well update... thats the argreement you make when you use this FREE software
In my case I store music on a separate portable 16 GB USB memory stick. The OS and programs are protected by EWF on the 2.5" integrated SSD drive and are not meant to be altered unless absolutely necessary. That way no registry cleanup, DLL cleanup or anything else is necessary. The system is as pristine and fast as it was when I initially built it and everytime I reboot it everything is reset the way it was.

But yes if there is going to be a Pro version without nag screen I'm interested if the price is right.

pro version is only availabe with dedicated hardware , not sw on its own,

the pro version is or has been built around hardware that gunio has been given , it will not work on any other system .

so your back to square 1 again , like mitch said the nag scr looks alot better now and will NOT stop you from useing RR.

come on guys support Guino the nag scr is only up for 15 sec's i think it is.

i do see your point , but this is the way it is, i would not blame Guino to pull the free version from us and i'm just as sick of these over & over threads about it,

Gunio has done what he feels has to be done , i don't want to be pointed or uptight about this ,

but live with or without it , or roll back to 10\10 ver and loose the extra features,

i dont know what NISUs plans are, contact them, maybe there is something avail for sale... and i dont know if its even the RR we all know... maybe its a slimmed down version....

i assume you're using the RR where I added HORM support?

As a 'long time user' of both car pc's and road runner in general, IMHOThe end user has no right to be upset about a nag screen. They have made it easy enough to update the program w/ running an install file and not changing any config settings. This complains MIGHT have been valid before ZX3's work with the config app.Users complaining need to visit a site like meedios to see what users really go through to get things set up ... Furthermore the users complaining about difficulty upgrading due to access to the system really need to evaluate what they are doing during the bench testing and mockup for the install in a semi embedded environment with no seamless way to service the system down the road. I for one am happy they made the move they do, better themselves and still help us out in the end.... How can you in your heart really complain about that?

Well in light of the extra information shared in this thread and after reading this = http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...ar-forums.html i have to say i feel much better about Riderunner now.

I've been feeling outside the circle ever since RR changed, irrational maybe but it was starting to feel like the end, the end for RR, the end of my love affair and its depressed me in ways i didn't think possible.

I tried to be respectful and keep my mouth shut, i've never wanted to clash with Guino, mitch or blue but was starting to feel like my arm was being sawn off, yes people RR means a lot to me.

Its now clear to me that neither Mitch or blue has received the gratitude that they deserve and for my part in that i'm gonna apologise, I'm Sorry.

The bottom line is that if you don't tell the whole story people tend to make it up for themselves, i had come to the conclusion that the coding team had become Nisu's puppets and were coding for Nisu's benefit and not ours (the MP3CAR community) which just isn't true.

I have the latest build installed for shake down testing, if it all goes well Riderunner will make it to the car after all.

    Griff1....Back with the program.

well i have always been happy with rr old and new, like you Griff, rr has become my life in many ways, i to have just read that thread, which yes some of it should have been said well back , but saying that Gunio did do a big post all about his intentions on the 1st change to Ride Runner, so i got a good picture back then of what was happening.
i would love to help out more than just saying its not working all the time , but my programming is very limited, but saying that i may take up the challenge of the documention, as i have almost finished the skin i'm doing, it will be awhile thou before i can produce anything to the forum,

which brings me to this (may start a new thread on this if enough intrest)
what would the end user want from the documention i can add anything RR related, maybe 1 Html file inc skin cmds and history, but these doc's are already in txt form .
and if enough intrest is generated, i would like to call on the users that have spent time makeing doc's for various bits of rr . for agreement to add thier work, and call on any user that use's a part of RR that i'm not afay with to input, which is not much.

so what do you want in a RR Documentation file i suppose.

Thanks Guino,Mitch,Blue If your car is lacking in good interface who are you going to call

    LOL!

Really, a big thanks to the RR dev team. Without them I would never have gotten along as far as I have.

They've never failed me to answer the most mundane of questions and have been receptive to suggestions.

    Kudos to you guys.

Thanks to everyone for the reconsideration's and apologies. It is always easier to understand whats going on when more details are given, especially when those extra details really change how you opinion towards something.

I also didn't think that when I said "The RR Team" back in April that it was gonna stick. It just sounded and felt powerful.

Yep, no Centrafuse, in the past, present, nor any foreseeable time in the future....
