Music Listing

I've been using Frodo since '04, and finally decided to give RR a try. I'm in the process of getting everything setup and have some questions regarding the music listing.

    I have RR configured like:

C:\music contains all of my music and C:\playlist contains a single playlist called all.m3u which contains every mp3 under C:\Music.

When I first enter the music player from RR, this is the screen I get:

As you can see, it is empty. At one point it listed a single track titled demo, but that went away. Why is this screen empty? When I click on the folder, it correctly shows everything under C:\music:

What am I missing to get RR to work without navigating my filesystem?

Unlike FP, RR works just like winamp -- you have to load/make a playlist then you can play songs from it. If you want to load all your songs at once, just browse to your playlist path and dbl-click your all.m3u -- it will load all your songs and as long as you don't mess with it, your songs will always be loaded in there (you'll only have to re-do that when you update all.m3u). Also, follow carputer1's recomendation and select the audio file types you wish to see in the audio browser (and dont forget m3u).

OK, I was able to fix the problem by first double clicking on the playlist outside of RR and then restarting it. When I go to directory mode, my playlist directory doesn’t show up, so how do I load the playlist through RR?

    And a couple more questions:

When I click “Vis” on the music player screen, the AVS visualization window loads, but it isn’t embedded in RR, and hides behind the screen. What setup option did I screw up?

The search post in the FAQ section describes the ability to search the currently loaded playlist: “Searching through the playlist works by looking for any matches of the entered text on the current playlist. This search is executed by the "SEARCHLIST" comand (on the audio PLAYER screen).” How do I execute the SEARCHLIST command? I’m assuming the PLAYER screen is the “MP3 PLAYER” screen I posted in my second screenshot above, and I don’t see anywhere to manual enter the command or a button that represents it.

To view your playlists in the audio browser, you have to be sure that .m3u is an extension you've set to list -- this is what carputer1 explained above.

Vis: You have to match the Vis you selected in winamp with the Vis you selected in RRConfig -- if they're different it won't embed. Easiest thing is: Select the AVS plugin in winamp and select the AVS window option in the VIS settings of RRConfig (Page 2 under music).

Some skins don't offer this feature -- in the BMV2 skin this is the button with a lens icon, if your skin doesn't have the button you can add one using the skin editor (and edit images) or you can switch the code of any other button to SEARCHLIST -- you can also assign a keyboard shortcut if you'd like (by editing keytbl.ini).
