    A few questions/issues

    Well for starters, I do apologies for asking so many questions..I feel useless as i've been searching the forum and FAQs but can't seem to find any issues.

    First things first..I just downloaded RR from their site, as well as the "update"

    Issue 1:
    Update Issue:
    It comes with a few .dll files, as well as Riderunner and Roadrunner executables. It says copy this .dll into system32 and register it. Copying it there - No issue. But how do you "register" a .dll in system32?

    Issue 2: Flash/iDrive/RRUpd8
    Well, I wanted to install iDrive, so I downloaded it - It told me I needed upd8 and a link to it - I needed to register (encode??) on this site to get it. I finally downloaded it, and went to install it but it seems the version of RideRunner I downloaded already has it- Either way, I ran the batch file, and the read me is kind of confusing...

    It says things like
    "You will need to add x.rrup8 to the menu.skin of the skins you use"
    -How on earth do I do that?
    "You will also need the following .skin plus the corresponding graphic files"
    -I asume thats in referance to the skin I use - The iDrive one, well I downloaded idrive...and loaded it through the RR Config, I think I did it write...I went into "Skins" on RRconfig, and made the skin path to the iDrive folder.

    Last but not least, Issue 3:
    Fullscreen, resolution.
    How do I make it full screen? I'm not that dumb I don't think..as I went into the RRConfig and under General > Page 2 "Run Road Runner at this resolution" and then I pick 1280x800x16 (my laptops full resolution). I save and exit...reload RR - Its the exact same size! didnt enlarge at all.

    again...sorry for the long post - I just wish I could find answers on my own here...but it seems people only seem to ask tough questions that are lightyears ahead of what i'm on- The basics!

    Thanks again guys,

    Shay

    I can only offer some quick help w/#1..

    type "regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32blahblah.dll" into CMD where the C:\WINDOWS\system32blahblah.dll is wherever the name/location of the .dll is.

    in the skin folder there's a file called "general.ini", open it in notepad and change the resolution there

    OriginalWidth=800
    OriginalHeight=600
    ShowWidth=800 - THIS and
    ShowHeight=600 - THIS

    Leave the top 2 lines alone.

    Awesome so far! Okay got the Resolution down, as well as registering the .dll (although I havnt noticed ANY difference in he skin, or anything since i've installed the .dll - I have a feeling the RR I downloaded already installed all of that stuff)

    Question 4:

    How do I get winamp/non-winamp visualizations to run when music is turned on, or by command? In the RR config its already set to the Milk one.

    Can you be a little more clear on which installer? If you're referring to the RR install - I've used it already and its installed on my PC

    use "AVS Window" visualization better. Most skins have a button that activates the visualization; the new iDrive does NOT have such button (that i could see). Try a different skin.

    Exactly

    if u use the installer, you dont have to mess with the UPDATE .zip

    the installer, always has the newest files
    the update.zip is for people who dont use the installer (why i have no idea)

    Oh ok - My mistake, I did use the Installer but also downloaded the update...didnt think the install was up to date!

    Okay i'm now using the TEKNIK v4.0 skin which i'm really liking so far - except in the general.ini file, theres nothing about resolution in it. So i'm stuck with it being small again. Any ideas guys?
