i think u got a hardware issue, maybe we can solve it
i would accept maybe 1 fail in 1000, but anything else, would **** me off
and i would keep at it till it works 99.999999999999%
(its just the little perfectionist in me )

"radioreset" isnt going to help you with hdradio issues after resume

turn on debug, make it fresh for each session, and hddebug too
and when it fails, collect the debug.txt

also alot of people dont wire it up right...

    also... u using USB->Rs232 deally?

try adding a second or two of resume delay...

I note that into the command list there isn't the indication of the standard folder list

    Sxx,x,y,w,h,RGB1,RGB2,RGB3.RGB4,RGB5,RGB6,fonts etc.

Is it still implemented on the new version of RR or is it only a lack of the document?

Into the command list there are only S command as playlist (with 5 RGB parameters) and as folder/picturelist (with 4 RGB parameters) but the standard directory list has 6 RGB parameters:

    /, S, x, y, w, h, fore R;RGB, G, B, back R;RGB, G, B, folder R;RGB, G, B, file R;RGB, G, B, selected R;RGB, G, B, select R;RGB, G, B, trs, font pt;FONT, font name

and it isn't listed into the document.

I also like Mitch's stuff, and have paid for a bit of it (Sirius usb adapter and USB optical switch, Mitch was very helpful in setup of the latter).

But the question is simple: Why do either of these entities, or the company they work for, need my name, phone number, and address?

Up until now, I've made it a practice to not give out such info unless I am involved in a transaction that necessitates it. It doesn't matter how "nice" I think that someone I've never met might be, or what they've offered in the past. The fact that it would even occur to a producer of open source software to ask for my phone number is just weird, and I can think of no good reason to do it.

So, what I'm looking for is enlightenment. Why does this company want my address and phone number, and why does no one else feel weirded out by the request? Why, when this product otherwise smacks of a certain degree of professionalism, would they want to do something so unprofessional?
Glad to see someone feels the exact same way as I do. I've complained about it as well except my post was a little more of an outburst and got deleted.

The software is a product on the site, because it's free and it's just a download, any information you provide will work, but if you choose to fill out the correct information in your shopping account then you won't have to worry about doing that in the future in case (IF) you were to actually buy something on the website, that is all, nobody is going to sell your information or send you any mail unless you were to sign up for it.
Amazon ships orders to my door, thus requiring my shipping address. Unless you're shipping the software to me, you don't need that. Feel free to put the link anywhere on the site that doesn't require user authentication.

Feel free to to download another skin software instead that doesn't requite user authentication...

wtf is your problem dude, if you dont like it, go use something else already. quit complaining about it, you're not going to change ANYTHING by whining about it!

It's their software, they can require whatever the hell they want, if you dont like it, then shove off....

now i'm getting angry.........and i have nothing invested in this software! seriously, all of you, stop whining like little children because they require some info for you to download their free software!

The software is a PRIVILEGE, NOT a right! It's not enough that it's FREE, but you wanna ***** about HOW you can obtain it too?!?!?!? You've got some real nerve dude...

I give NISU and guino big props, 1 for making the software and keeping it FREE, 2 for putting up with ignorant whining little nothings like you...you're seriously the reason companies DONT give anything for free these days... If i was guino or one of the executives at NISU, i'de tell ya to go pound salt and ban your IP from the website, leaving you with no choice but to use something else...be thankful they're not like me

That's what I did, I don't like giving out my address either unless I am being shipped a product. However I assume since NISU will perhaps eventually have products the order system is being tested out with the RR software.

What bothers me about the situation is open source software is supposed to stay open source, that's the idea behind OPEN! Now that the project is closed I am less interested in it. I'll still play with it because it is free, but I'm on the fence about releasing my new open source skins, 'shock v7' and 'cube' since RR is now closed source. I'm sure if Coyote was around, who is the original code base developer, he would have a thing or two to say about it too. I had my first WTF moment on carPC v2 which is on the test bench when the 12/08 version threw the time bomb screen for 20 seconds. It's not a big deal i suppose but I am running an embedded OS from compact flash so every time I have to update I must disable my write overlay and write to the CF which only has limited writes to begin with. So by using RR I am wearing out my CF quicker because of the required updating. Oh well the price to stay current I suppose, just annoying. Guess i'll order myself a couple new SSD's today.

For the record, I really do appreciate the work and effort set forth by Guino, Mitch and Blue. It's a LOT of work to do for free so I understand Guino's decision to try and make some cash for his efforts yet still make a free version available. I am a proprietor myself and I agree with the need to get paid for your time and knowledge. Thank you for last open source 12/07 version of RR (I wish it were still like the old days) and the most recent versions which are stellar. I still believe the project would accomplish more if it stayed open, but that's just my humble opinion. I'm sure you have a business agenda to stick to so don't listen to anyone standing in your way.

    Whoa! there shocky ol' boy.

Coyote was responsible for MediaCar which was a closed source Front End.

RideRunner FKA RoadRunner was an open source Front End that could use existing MediaCar skins. It was also originally called ReMediaCar and has always been done by Guino.
