Thread: winamp not resuming music on restart

I have exactly same issue as americasfuture2 have. If I shutdown Windows when RR is on music doesn't resume on next time, but if I close RR before Windows then resume works. I try it with nlited and full Windows with same result. I have ATX M2 power supply which shut down pc when I turn ignition off and it starts pc when ignition turned on, so it's very frustrating to close RR before shut down engine.

Specs: Latest RR, Winamp 5.13 and WinXP sp3.

did u look at the registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\
'WaitToKillAppTimeout' value

(the default should be 20000).

clearly, its because windows isnt letting RR shutdown cleanly

Or..his setup isn't set up correctly..

I just got a M2 PSU my selft and use standby. What jumper settings are you using for you shut down mode on the M2?

RRs Shutdown takes too long, and XP terminates it

im using the p1900 for my power supply. the on/off is really simple on these things. it interfaces into the power button on my mobo to mimic pushing the power button. so whatever you have set to act when the power button is pressed happens just like pushing the button yourself. so it cant be anything to do with my power supply thats causing this.

I use P1 which is 5sec + 1min autolatch and hard-off 1min (jumpers: on off off off) Power set up is ok and it works like it sould be.

Mine is 20000

this could never of worked, would never of worked!!!!

the problem is... and think about this

when windows is shutting down, it tells applications to close
the same signal that closes RR would could WINAMP

so.. what happens, is 1, winamp closes, now RR cannot get where or what im playing
so.. it CANT save valid resume data
also... it seems RR takes some time to exit, XP would terminate this process short
and winamp wouldnt close 100%

so, i apoligize for thinking it could ever work... i just NEVER restarted/shutdown out side of RR
or if i did, i would close RR 1st

one solution, is NOT let the power supply shutdown windows, but get a trigger, and use that inside RR to shutdown

Power supply just send signal to motherboard power switch pins or connect those so I think this is busted.
