    Feature Request: UNLOADSCREEN

Since /DISCARDABLE is so buggy and RR can unload screens (screenlimit), is it possible for a command to UNLOADSCREEN?

I know I can just use RELOADSCREEN to refresh, but, for my purposes, it'd be so much cleaner if I could just unload a screen when I move away from it so it can be updated next time I step into it.

As opposed to stepping into a screen then RELOADSCREEN to update it with changes during runtime.

I hate to sink your ship but...that'is what reloadscreen for the most part does, it completely unloads and destroys the form then recreates it like it was loaded the for the very first time.

It sounds more like you have an issue that your trying to put a band-Aid on instead of saying what issue your having is and see if it can be looked into and/or fixed...

I think he doesn't want it to "recreate" immediately after destroying. Basically, if you're on screen A, then go to screen B, then back to A, he doesn't want to then have to reloadscreen on A to get it to refresh -- rather have A unload when you go to B, and then reload fresh when you go back to A.

OP please correct me if I'm interpreting this wrong...

No, I completely understand what hes talking about. What he's really getting at is asking for another method of something that is broken(/DISCARDABLE) instead of seeing if its being looked at or trying to be fixed so that he can get what hes asking.

And with that thinking, we're back to the band-aid for the broken part..

The /DISCARDABLE entry in the .skin file would make the skin unload every time you leave the screen. So the screen would reload every time.

RELOADSCREEN would NOT reload the screen every time, but just when you wish for it. Downside is that you first have to open/visit the screen, and THEN it will be reloaded.

The wished for UNLOADSCREEN would have the same function as RELOADSCREEN with the exception, that you don't have to be on the screen.

For me that's clearly a difference. Perhaps RELOADSCREEN can be adjustet. Just calling "RELOADSCREEN" would reload the current screen. "RELOADSCREEN;xyz.skin" would reload the stated screen.

i dont believe you can reload the skins form without actually loading it into view. Could be wrong though

Not with the current version. That's what this suggestion is for.

Your wrong! Did you forget about the preloading of screens? It loads the form, just doesn't show it after its done...

Please explain. If you just wish to reload one screen without showing it first, which command would that be ?
