Working but I don't know how.

I set permissions on the registry main keys and I was able to register the xmcomm.dll. Then I started getting MJS Gadgets for XM Radio Control Assembly is not registered.
I re-installed several times with no luck.
Then I copied in the files Mitch sent me to debug and it worked. I then renamed my old files back and it still worked.

The only thing I can say to help others is to look for the XMComm.tlb file in the MJS Gadgets -> xmradio directory. This file will be created if the assembly registers ok.

Thanks for all your help Mitch!

    Brian

some how something changed your registry permissions, other issues might show up...
dont use the debug build of RideRunner i sent you, it will bloat the hell out of debug.txt

I am now getting the same "MJS Gadgets for XM Radio Control Assembly is not registered" error.

I have been running XP and an older version of road runner for at least a year, closer to 2. I upgraded to win7 and everything worked great except my volume control. XM, GPS, everything except volume control in RR, it works using the windows slider controls.

I figured I needed to go ahead an upgrade to riderunner, sept 09 version so I installed it. When I run it, regardles of the skin I use, i get the error aboive and my xm no longer works.

I have tried the unreg & runmefirst.cmd and I get a types registered successfully message and it creates the .dll file and says teh type library was regsitered sucessfully as well.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Chris

reinstall riderunner with the downloaded installer...
    use carwings skin....
and see what happens... the installer handles all registration...
also unlrelated, make sur ur using the newest FTDI drivers (prob are..im sure windows7 downloaded them from windows update)
    -Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that and gotten the same results.

I renamed the original \riderunner folder to \riderunner.old, downloaded the latest version, installed it with the default features to the default location using the installer. Ran the initial rrconfig program and set the xm com port to where it belongs, used the carwings skin and got the same xm mjs gadgets not registered results error.

I have also tried uninstalling riderunner, rebooting & re-installing it with the installer and gotten the same results

I can check the ftdi drivers but that part seems to be working fine as win 7 sees the usb devices and the previous version of road runner accesses the xm mp3 usb adapter properly.

Any other thoughts or things I can try?
    Thanks
    Chris
