Just wanted to say Thank You to all of RR community.

I am a firm believer that if you get something from someone or are helped by someone you should thank them.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to all the people who have put there time and effort into making the skins that are used in Road/Ride Runner.

While there may be some that don't fit what I am doing in my car, they are still really cool and allow me to customize a new skin that has a culmination of skins to run various tasks in RR.

To Guino, THANK YOU for making a system for the masses. I know that you had some help along the way, but just by reading, you seem to be the steam engine that pulled this train along. It is a great front end, nevermind the cost (free) and would be a worthy find even if you had to pay for it.

As a side note, I would like to start building my own skin. I am familiar with a cpu from the hardware standpoint with some software work and have been tinkering with GIMP but I am not sure where to start. Anyone give me some pointers? And yes I have played in skin editor and looked at the tutorial before I started making a new one. Thanks gents.

Your best bet is to start with the skin that comes with Road Runner. Load those images up in Gimp and change them around to get a look that you like. After you are satisfied with the images, fire up the skin editor. It is pretty straight forward to use. You can then drag the buttons, labels, indicators ect with the mouse, resize them ect.

This is how I started, with the skin that used to come with RR, the BMV2 skin. After tinkering with the skins, moving things around a bit, it all came together, and at that point started designing a skin from scratch.
