If you guy's just keep the system time on your computer accurate amd not have it updated by GPS time then you will not see any reminder screens for 4 month. If you update the FREE software on a regular basis, you will never see a reminder screen.
ok, so i hadnt updated my RR software in about 2 years, i jump on here to see whats new and findout the name has changed as well as lots of changes in software. one thing i did notice was that there is now a screen that opens everytime the program is opened and everytime the computer resumes from hibernation. whats this for? is there anyway to turn it off? it seems to lag there for a good 10sec before music will start. the screen has "click screen to continue" in red text as well as some other info about keeping the software up to date
i tried searching but came up short. maybe im the only one having this problem?
EDIT: after updating to the latestest version 5/1/09 the red text is gone and i can clearly read the screen. its a reminder that riderunner is free and such. can we disable this screen on startup? whats the purpose of this if not? also if this can not be disabled whats the last version of RR that did not have this screen? im willing to use older software if it boots up quicker.

thats all it was?!?!? my system time was wrong?? wow, 1 i feel dumb and 2 i dont see the point of this. why does it remind you to update every 4 months? i can see why its nice to haveupdated software but some features in the updates are not used by everyone, some people dont mind keeping the same old setup as long as it works for what they use it for. in my opinion this should be an option in the config.
When you update, you will get a newer version with bug fixes for the old features and new ones implemented. If you don't want the new features, don't use them. It will just get better.
Forget a DFX sub-forum, apparently we need one for these threads...![]()
We should be able to choose whether we want to mess with updating it or not instead of having that screen come up at all. It's annoying. My time isn't updated by GPS and I've only been using the software for 1 month.

Man have you heard yourself MGD,1 of the best support forums around as long as you don't bring up the nag screen.
It is pointless, its there to make "WHO EXACTLY" aware of "WHAT EXACTLY"?
Well unless a seasoned RideRunner user is looking over some guys shoulder when that pops up then no 1 will ever know some guy was passing it off as his own.
Secondly,it tells said thief to go update his software, lol, what a farce.
I will always hate the nag screen,i know my system,i know when it needs updates.
All its doing is fishing for the 1 in a million chance it might catch somebody and it peaves me off.
RR is now like it or lump it,great support.

Damn that reminds me how much I hate posting to this forum.
Sal R., If I could make my own believe me I would, but I hate programming (yes I've tried it).
MGD, Before that company took it over we never got nag screens. All of us that use RR aren't running wireless/internet in our vehicles so updating it is really a pain and to download a release on the RR website sucks having to go through the order process (has this changed yet?)
Nag screens are just like activation to me, it's all a pain in the ***. If there is a way to get around it I will.
