OK Dumb question - so bear with me here.

I've been using the December version of RR still (I know, I know...) - anyway, i know we were supposed to use an old version of Winamp, but is this not the case anymore?

I've been having issues with winamp and have to keep reinstalling it in order to get a song to play, so I figure I should upgrade from Road Runner to this version (or July if it comes out soon) of Ride Runner.

Should I be using a new version of winamp when I do this? Based on the comment below, I guess I should, but I'm just checking.

if u use the update binary.zip it assumes your coming from the VERY last released version
and you wont get all the proper .dlls

[HL]ie... a NEW RR will not work with a OLD winamp.dll[/HL]
Also, Since I'm still stuck on the old Road Runner, and about to convert to Ride Runner, is there a best practice for upgrading? I;ve looked around and am still kinda clueless as to what I need to setup to keep everything working the way it is. IE (dfx 4.0, Garmin, OSK overlay etc...)

The winamp.dll version and winamp version are two different things... winamp.dll is the winamp player interface for RR. The all winamp.dll versions should work with any winamp SOFTWARE version (above 2.9x).

Dan, I put it off for a while too but found the process was pretty seamless. I just installed RideRunner to a new folder and copied my skin over. When I upgraded it next time over the top, it broke my Silabs USB radio but this was because I was missing a DLL. once I copied that in, it was all good again.

The only other issue I have had is that I can't exit my Street Nav, I can only return to the main menu. It is not a drama as Odyssey Navigator which I use is well behaved and shuts down with the system. Don't quite know why this is, every other program closes cleanly. The fault has been there since the beginning of Ride Runner. I am using the BMV2 skin.

So I guess it is about time for me to put the June release on...
