how far along does it get? try differnt skin...delete resume.ini
I have been using RR for a while now, but last night when RideRunner started to load it gave me an error "Runtime Error 52:Bad filename or number"
I am running RideRunner 05/01/2009 release. First thing i did was re-install RR with the same release, still had same problem. I then though it might have to do with a bad mp3 music file, so i changed the music path in rrconfig to somewhere else, but still had the same problem.
Maybe there is a bad config file or something or maybe a bad file which is stored in a config file and keeps trying to load.
I know this isn't much info, but if anyone can chip into what would cause a problem like this that would be great, or at least point me in the right direction.
Maybe i should completely uninstall the version i have and re-install for a fresh version. I will need to backup what i have. I haven't enabled debug for RR, but i can do that and post it here if i can't resolve this.
If there is any more info you need please let me know. Thanks in advance for the help guys/gals.
Cheers,
Blair

debug log ? did it show anything before/after that error message ?
Ride Runner RR's Myspace
"Being happy is not about having what you want, it's about wanting what you have."
"The best things in life are always free - but that doesn't mean money can't buy you good things."
I can see the RideRunner logo and then i get the error, so the skin doesn't get loaded.
I tried to delete resume.ini, but it wasn't in the rr directory, i will double check. I will also try another skin.
Just wondering if this error was specific to something, but i will try these things and report back.
I havent enabled debug in RR, will enable this and take a look at the file to see if it tells me anything..
This could be a problem with a bad setting -- can you post a zip of your rr.ini ?

Ok, its fixed now.
Last night when i tried i kept getting the error. I was initially going to delete resume.ini, but wasn't in the rr directory.
Today, i kept the same skin i was using yesterday and checked the rr path again and no resume.ini file. I enabled debug.txt and restarted rr and works fine now, no error. I tried to restart the computer a few times and then restart rr and works everytime and now there is a resume.ini file.
I will keep debug enabled in case this comes back to haunt me. Not sure why the resume.ini wasn't getting created, but maybe that was the culprit.
I will keep my eye on this..
Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. All i need to do now is update to the latest release.

Thats what I do...just keep the debug ON, so if something does show up, I can take a look.
Its even nicer now that there is the debug refreash, for a new log on every start..
