RR 07-01-2009 Release - Available NOW

okay 2 questions here, really not related to each other at all.

1.) I noticed that when the program changed to Ride Runner, there are now 2 programs running in the task manager, Ride and Road runner. I am sure that this is some sort of compatability thing. Just wondering out of curiosity what the plan is for weaning the need to run both, if there even is one or needs to be. Some further explanation of the need for both would be cool, or direct where it has been explained.

2.) I notice sometimes while using iGuidance, that it locks out button pushes whil embedded in RR. While using it stand alone I never experience this, but in RR I will go back and forth to avoid a road whil getting directions, and I will get a system noise and not be allowed to change screens. The solution is to go back to the menu screen of RR and then back to iGuidance, and the buttons work again.

You can still register the ocx even though it's a 32 bit solution.
For Vista Ultimate x64, you need to put the Comdlg32.ocx file in the \Windows\SysWOW64\ dir.
Then go to cmd and run "regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Comdlg32.ocx" This will register the file.

the new installer takes care of comdlg32

ill answer #1, its a dummy program that forwards messages to riderunner for compatability... im sure it has been explained... and takes 0 cpu and close to 0 ram...

u dont need it, on all updated plugins....

#1 As mitch said you may not need it depending on what skin and plugins you're running. Quick way to check is to just rename "RoadRunner.exe" and see if any issues arise.

#2 Yes, I have too seen this occur in the car and is a small PITA. It's possibly a focus problem in the RR code some where and would be nice to get it fixed at some point if it can be fixed.

I've noticed recently that I am having some odd issues.

My Music Browsing has gone haywire.

Instead of how it is supposed to be, it seems RR is reading only the ID3 tag of the first track in every album.

Ie. 1st song listed "Crash", then the remaining are all read as file names. "Dave Matthews Band - Crush" and so on. Every album I have and browse does this. Also they will not display in order of track anymore. This is using the standard browser and no Blue's database browser. Blue's data base browser displays every song by file name..

Funny, I just noticed exactly the same today. I thought I had changed the .ini file by mistake, but nothing I do changes it.

EDIT: Okay Doug try this, Page one of the music settings in RR config. ID3 Tags. I have mix V2 with V1, Show ID3 Playlist, Show ID3 Browse, Play on List Click, adn Highlight Current Playlist song on Change checked.

I do not have Lazy ID3 Load, Don't Format Text, and Numbered Playlist Checked. I got back to normal display in the browser.

Just to further clarify... The only instances when my PI displays a file name are when #1) your in the folder browse mode or #2) when your at song level browse and there is no title tag for a file then it will then default to the file name so that something will always show.

Thanks Blue. I have noticed when I sort the browse mode by "Artist" i get a folder of "Unknown Artist's" at the top. In that contains ALOT! of my music. This is dis concerning to me as I have every file I own Tagged correctly. Or so I think? Some issues seem to be that I have some WMA's I didn't know I had. One album consist of 1 song MP3, and the rest WMA. When browsed by "Artist" only the MP3 shows up in the album. When I use mp3 tag and tag the files again they still dont show up. I realize this is now more appropriate for a different thread.

I reopen this old thread because I have some questions about video player.

I have problem with the video list. Infact I'm not able to delete the video playlist because the CLEARLIST command doesn't work. Also the ADD1 command doesn't work with the video. I have the same problem with built-in player, MPC and WMP.

What are, actually, the browser commands that work with the video?
