Unloading an embedded .swf when leaving the screen

This has been a problem for some time, and I have never found a solution to it.

How do you close an embedded .swf when leaving a screen? I have tried:

CLOSE|| on the button to leave the screen
CLOSE||EXIT on the button to leave the screen
EXIT on the button to leave the screen
Putting /DISCARDABLE in the skin with the .swf

There has to be some way to do this properly....

No, the only way to destroy the flash control once created on that screen is to use the "/DISCARDABLE" skin option. G has talked about this before in a few diff places.

Or to load the flash control with a dummy swf file. Ie... just an empty movie, which would take up less mem and cpu as its not really gonna be doing anything.

One last way would be to use a var as the movie file name and set the var to nothing, do a reloadscreen, before exiting, that might work if you want to save the screen in mem...IDK?

If the embedded swf is embedded by the F definition, the only way to unload it right now is using /DISCARDABLE... we can add variable support so you can set the flash movie name in it and do a reloadscreen.. but there's nothing else that can unload a flash movie right now. Since we did some work to wrap the flash movie awhile back, it is now possible to unload the object (and flash movie) and reload it -- causing the effect of "unloading" a movie.. I can see if I can add that in for this coming release.. while RRConfig is still in the works..

I think it only works with the newest flash versions (or I would have made this feature before)..

Before someone asks.... I only seen the Cmd(SetFlash) in the svn comments... Did/Could you add support for if a screen has more than one flash Ctrl, as there are some that have two to three. Not sure how you'd handle that, by order listed in skin file? As this will probably be the next request for this cmd...

And Yes, I'm still on the Config...Should have a tester for mitch tonight...

Setflash already works by the order on the skin file... SETFLASH;1;logo.swf ... if you're talking about using the ID, then I'd have to check.. this forces to expand the Skin interface by adding functions to access the ID of the flash object, however the current implementation works the same as showflash/showlabel works. Are you looking for a "setflashID" or am I understanding this wrong ?

No, going by what you've said, sounds like you've already got it covered... I just wasn't sure and didn't check before hand on the actual usage/imp of it.

Hahaha... I'm in no hurry man.. I think myself and everyone here appreciates your work on RRConfig.. so I would think most would rather wait a couple of days to have a nice way to config the new stuff than have to do it by hand..
