New WeatherRR Plugin

Im looking for/taking requests for the upcoming WeatherRR plugin(PI). This PI is basically all of the weather code removed from RR's core and made into a PI with several improvements. This will probably be released with the sept RR release.

In its current pre-released state, it has the following changes:

#1 Internet retrieval method changed
-- No more lockups if you go to the weather screen w/o any internet

#2 10 builtin weather presets
-- No more long RR code to do the same thing
-- "LOADWEATHER;x", loads the x weather preset's weather info
-- "SEARCHWEATHER;x", pops up the osk and saves to x weather preset at end

#3 Ability to choose a city/state (requested by JohnWPB)
-- If there are multiple matches, user can choose which one they want and remembers for next time
-- This is enabled if a "Weather_Choices.skin" file is present in skinpath

#4 "ONWEATHERDLDONE", "ONWEATHERDLFAILED" Events
-- Added for skin features to use
-- "xxDONE" Gets fired after the weather for the city is finished downloading
-- "xxFAILED" Gets fired when the weather download failed

#5 Expose the middle date part of the w_title label (requested by JohnWPB)
-- Using "w_dayf" as the label def

#6 AutoUpdate interval setting
-- Update the weather info at a specified interval
-- Run time settable

#7 No more partial info downloads
-- Extra check to verify that DL'd data is complete before overwriting files

#8 "WeatherDLing" indicator
-- That shows while its retrieving the info, pointless on the DT, far too fast is on/off before screen updates, but would be more usable in car w/ a slower wifi connection.

Possibly caching of data and a "last updated" label. Say I have internet on Monday, it downloads information for the week and saves it off. Then, if I don't have internet until wednesday, it still has the last good info, but the label says that I last synced on whatever date.

Also, will the plugin be constantly polling in the background, or only when you enter the weather skin? Ideally I'd like it to either automatically do it on skin start or have a command to sync the weather. That way when I get in my car in the morning, and get wifi from my apartment, I don't have to go into the weather skin to update the information.

I really have not used RR's weather feature all that much in the past, frankly...while doing this, I've probably used it more than I ever have!

I believe that is the way that it currently works, will have to look at though b/c like I said above...

My online indicator refreshes the weather when a internet connection is detected and every few minutes while the internet connection is active, it sets an outdated weather variable as well if it's older that a set time. I use that to change the Weather button on the main screen to the current temp if the weather is up to date. When the weather is outdated, the button just says weather. Just some more ideas for ya, and how I use weather.

I'm trying to help get away(Fix) from some of the work arounds that users are using to do some things that should be builtin.

Just don't break it so that any skins which use the current system then don't work.

Otherwise you will have the baying mob complaining about having to update to something which has now broken their system.

You mush have NOT read the second sentence in the first post... Its mostly all the same code(C&P'd), with improvements, and extras.

I have already verified that the simple standard weather skin included with the installer works 100% with the pre-releaseed PI. I'll be doing some testing with John and try another skin to make sure that its 100% backwards compatibe.

Oh, I read it, and it's the improvements and extras which can 'break' what worked before sometimes. (It's very easy to overlook the impact of changes and additions sometimes
