The iTunes player plugin is very limited to what it has to offer right now as mentioned in the plugins text file.
Someone else that actually uses RR and iTunes could hopefully shed more light, as I do not use iTunes.
Hi all, this is my first post but I've been lurking for a little while now. I'm trying to figure out which front end I'd like to use for my CarPC, and I like everything about RR so far, except for the way the music browser works.
I have a very large music library (10-12 thousand songs, 50+ playlists) and its all organized in Itunes. I can't figure out how to browse just my playlists using the native RR music plugin with Itunes selected as the player, it just opens to my main music library, which with that many songs is kind of obnoxious. I've tried to export my playlists to m3us and loading them in winamp, but in order for that to work i need to copy the actual music files, which at 57 gigs is also not really feasible.
Am I just not getting something, or being stupid? haha.
If theres nothing I can do with RR to manage this, can you guys recommend a different UI with an easier music management interface?
tl;dr: Can't get itunes to work the way I want, wtfux

I don't think I've ever actually used m3u's, but shouldn't you be able to create a playlist with relative paths to the files in your iTunes file structure? Try loading up a bunch of songs into winamp and then hitting save playlist -- I don't think it copies any files, just spits out a file that points to all of them. I think...![]()

i use itunes cause ive always had ipods :/
i know how playlists work, what i was trying to do was export the playlists i have in itunes and convert them to m3us, not remake all of them :/
i think what im gonna end up doing is just taking the time to build a new library from scratch using winamp once my kit gets here :/ gonna take some time
