RideRunner crashes after installing HDRadio USb interface and Mitch's UAS4 Audio Sle

Ok this is a weird one.

I have the latest RR installed and working fine.
I bought a USB adapter for my HD Radio because my last one died.
I also bought Mitch's UAS4 for auto switching between the HD Radio and XM Radio.

Installed the new USB adapter for the HD Radio changed com port to com port 4 and tried Mitch's program and HD Radio worked fine.

Fired up RR and HD Radio worked fine after adjusting com ports on the RRConfig.

Installed Mitch's UAS4 by plugging inputs into it, plugging output into it, plugged in USB cord, Windows asked for drivers, popped in the disc from Mitch and installed drivers. Installed plugin for RR. Went into RRConfig and added lines for XMRadio and HDRadio as 1 and 2 as installed.

Went into RR and tried it out and everything worked fine.

Restarted Windows as a test. I have RR configured to run at startup. Windows starts up and BOS CRASH. Try it twice more and same thing. Unplugged the UAS4 and then I could go into Windows. Tried starting RR with no UAS4 hooked up to USB and RR hangs at the loading player screen and I can't even get out of windows without unplugging the PC.

Try going to RR with no UAS4 and no HDRadio hooked up and same thing. Tried turning off everything related to the HDRAdio and same thing RR hangs at Starting Player screen.

Now I'm at a loss what to do ? Completely uninstall and reinstall RR?

    HELP PLEASE !!!! LOL

Sounds like a driver/OS issue. I'd say the first thing to try is uninstall the UAS plugin/driver -- the easiest way out would be to do a system restore to right before you installed the HD and UAS adapters.. But first, you may want to make a debug log so Mitch can take a closer look at it.

ha he's having the same problem i had with my previous motherboard mitch. For me it was associated with the FTDI drivers. I dont remember specifically what we did to fix it but i do remember you sending me several different versions of the FTDI files. Hailraizer do you have any other devices which use virtual serial ports connected? Try to disconnect them and see if it happens. You can also work around this problem by loading mitch's standalone UAS4 app before opening RR. That seemed to bandaid it for me until mitch helped me fix it permanently

My windows 7 system craps out every time I try to install the MP3Car USB XMDirect driver, so I don't use it anymore.

    It's Windows Vista 32bit.

I can install everything but the plugin and no problems. as soon as I load the UAS4 plugin for RR , then RR won't start. If I uninstall the plugin RR will start again.

But there might be an issue with the Serial-to-Usb adapter. Every once in a while I get the BOS and windows crashes saying something about a "Driver IRQL less than or equal" error in regard to a USB device..

I am going to try another Serial USB adapter in a few days and see what happens.

The only other serial device is my Prolific Serial device that runs my Blu Gps receiver.

    well. DONT mix ftdi drivers!!!
    thats an issue they have...

my guess ur mixing 2.04.06 and 2.04.16

since its vista 32 bit, the drivers DO NOT have to be signed...
i can get you NEWER DRIVERS, then u should be mixing

providing ur using the newest drivers with the serial usb adaptor
    -Thanks

I also had this issue, but I use CF, the UAS and a USB Relay. I could not use one or the other because they both use the FTDI driver and I was scared to use the FTDI driver that came with the Relay. The relay nor the UAS would not work, so I installed the FTDI driver that came with the relay, which is newer. Both devices now work. Maybe I can dig up the FTDI driver I use if anyone needs it?
