Well since your skin is one of those I tested, now I'm concerned. What type art are you using for your external apps? All mine are JPGs and I don't see a damn thing in Ranger or Ranger AWRR!

i have not long done a fresh install, so i only have what comes with rr on install, cal and notepad.

That would lead me to believe that the error has something to do with the fact that my "Launch" directory is:
C:\Program Files\Road Runner\launch

as opposed to a sub under Ride Runner directory.

can't see why , the only other difference is i'm Profile mode , so my Launch folder is in My Documents , not Program Files/RideRunner/Launch

Exactly my point, another enhancement and loss of backward compatibility.

to be honest i can't see that being the problem either , i don't have rr here in legacy mode, but i will be able to test it later today , when he wakes up lol....

Well,. my install is three years old and I update the source whenever it's "stable". I am currently using the 10-05-09 source, and don't remember seeing the pics of the external apps since the changeover to Ride Runner. I guess I could dig out an old machine and fire it up with the last Road Runner build and then run every update till it breaks, but what will that prove - it works on your machine.

true i'm fully up-to-date here , never miss a update , not a good idea when you are a skinner lol... but i think the J cmd is beening or is obsolete , so maybe it needs to be killed off here too. the gods would be able to confirm this...

But that's the point GizmoQ id trying to make, things becoming obsolete means old skins will be broken. Not good, there is supposed to be backward compatibility.

Guino recently said even the old MediaCar skins should work.

Launch is from the MediaCar days.

Now although I personally very rarely if at all use the Launch directory, it is still included in my iDrive skins.

1-Profile mode is an enhancement: Yes, but it's OPTIONAL -- very few people use it and if you don't, everything is supposed to be as it has been for many years.

2-The launch feature in non-profile mode (which is what I use) seems to be working here (though it may not be hiding the image correctly when there's nothing to display). There's no "requirement" as to what the folder name should be and generally the problems reported on this feature are either skin or ini/structure related.

3-MediaCar skins are 100% compatible, and I test it regularly to ensure that we haven't lost backward compatibility. In fact, feel free to download the original mediacar skin and try it.. http://files.joat.co.nz/roadrunner/
