I think your confusing everyone by calling it the 12v line. Its either accessory power, switched power or vehicle run, because 12v is what you call vBatt.

That said obviously you would never want to tap into that line with a remote starter-they are connected to vbatt and/or your ignition/accessory switch.

i really dont know what the hell he is talking about. he acts like there is only one right way to auto turn-on a car computer, and fact is there are a hundred ways to do it.

Instead of complaining about it and making them angry, why not explain it better so you all benefit from this thread? You know, try having a conversation...

Talking to me? I gave up because it has nothing to do with the original post.
But my point is not that the ACC should not come on with a remote starter, just that I've never seen an installation where it did. And as far as I can think, I'm pretty sure even the install manuals for the higher end starters outline how to have the HVAC come on but not the radio. If you want the radio on it's fine with me but I just didn't get it. I don't want my car pumping 50 Cent out of the subwoofer waking up the neighbours at 8am when I'm getting ready for work. It also scares me that the car would be easier to steal if the ACC line is bypassed like that.

You know that actually makes a lot of sense. I guess I've never owned a high-end remote start. All the ones I've ever had or installed were exactly like sitting in the car and firing it up myself. All my junk comes on, and yeah sometimes Crystal Method would be bumping away at 7:30 in the morning, dogs barking, etc...

Cars with remote starts are always easier to steal...ACC line wouldn't really change that

Properly installed remote starts do not bypass any anti-theft measures a car has. Mine in particular, if you try to put the car in gear, hit the brakes, pop the hood, or pretty much anything without putting the key in while the remote start is active, the engine shuts off and the alarm goes off.

haha ya. Something like that actually happened to me last night. I was out at a junior high school watching my girlfriend (no, she's not in junior high!) play in her badminton league and ran out quickly to get some change out of my car for the vending machine. It's a manual gearbox so I have to set the starter when I get out or else I can't use the starter later. So I unlocked the car, grabbed some change, then quickly started up the car, removed foot from brake, engaged parking brake, did the usual routine to set the starter, then shut the car off and got out with the starter set. The car was now off and the alarm was on and finally my computer had come out of hibernation and was pounding 50 Cent. I was walking back to the gym thinking, "Please hibernate and don't set the alarm off! Please hibernate!" Then, "BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" My pager started beeping and I could hear the alarm going outside as well as the subwoofer pounding through the cement wall. Screw it, I just won't use the starter tonight!

For some reason if I turn the car off before the computer boots fully, the M2-ATX goes into hard off mode and it takes 30-60 seconds....never really timed it. Instead of the usual 5 second soft off.

ugh, i dont know where you got the idea that anyone is tying in their ACC line to their remote starter. not that there would be anything wrong with that, but it was never said. i clearly outlined how my system is setup, and in no way whatsoever does it hinder the natural operation of my car. youre arguing about nothing, using wrong info to back up your claims.
