updating RR

How do I update RR? Do I just run the new exe? How much reconfiguration will I be faced with? Do I need to install the newest RRConfig? Last time I updated the flash logo in the middle of the BMV2 skin became distorted, it became taller and narrower, I can post screenies is anyone cares. I hate to fix something that isn't broke but the nag screen is here now and I respect the makers wishes.

updateing rr ,is amatter of just running the riderunner.exe on every release (on average) every 4 weeks , and yes i would update rrconfig and skin editor if used as these get updated to , the exe will not overwrite any settings you have already made . so should be safe for you, the logo i would guess it may be your flash needs to be updated , rr uses flash 10 now..

well, I updated and it seems OK, some fonts changed for some reason though.

turbochris, sounds like ur flash is OLD
install the latest flash active x 10 something, there is a sticky

and just update with installer, as carputer1 said, it doesnt touch any existing settings

(it doesnt touch fonts too, that something else... possibly a font subsitiuion issue)

Oh, I thought the RRConfig and the Skintool get updated too...

They do when necessary or when we have added to them. Config is updated almost every release, the skintool will be updated as well in the next release, as I have done some more improvements to it.

I updated flash and nothing changed, I think I may have already had the latest flash as I keep all the install files I use in a folder and the latest version was already there. I just went into the skin folder and screwed with the X,Y,H W settings for the logo and now it looks good. It's nice to be able to edit all that stuff to make things the way I want.

Is skintool important?

Is it me or is all this stuff getting more complicated? I'll be 50 in a few months and I'm beginning to feel it. Growing old is controlled decay......
