I understand. In what situation would that be useful though?

I can think of a situation, but don't know if it could be implemented, as it would require real time tracking.

If you were heading down the road, and could have this script looking forward from your position say 10 miles (or kilometers) and tell you if there are any major grades in your immediate future. This could be handy if your rig is loaded down and you could then expect a slow down, say if your towing your 30' boat from Spokane to Seattle.

    Just a thought.
TruckPC - gutted, being used for test setup
BoatPC - All in 1 in cuddy, N7 using VNC on dash, RR
    BlazerPC - Nexus 7 with Timur's USBROM

Good Point. I can see it being useful for something like that but would't it just be easier to disply the Topo in google maps? I know it doen't give exact numbers but you can tell if there is a huge hill coming up

probably. I was also thinking that perhaps the script could be used as a warning, perhaps running in the background and if it saw a major altitude change coming it could switch to its screen. Probably not so useful for everyone, but good to see the interesting ideas coming out!

Hmmm, never know, maybe this one should be run by a patent lawyer. - Real time system to warn drivers of major altitude change - would be useful in the winter, especially for truckers, tie it into real time weather stats, ah never mind, I'm sure Garmin or someone holds a patent already.

    Some adds into GoogleMapsTrack.
Buttons for normal, sattelite, mixed and earth view.
    Buttons for wikipedia and panorama.

Now , if you click on a text a little window is opened with a zoom.

Some adds into GoogleTraffic also !
