If I may offer a little history for the project.

I started this when I discovered that RREarth from Guino did not work with Google Earth 5.1xxx.

As I worked on it I discovered several of the other functions that Google provides and found them of use in my Car PC which is actually in my RV and since I have full-time satellite Internet in the RV I decided to expand my project.

To be honest, I am doing this primarily for my personal use and should anyone want it it would be available "as-is".

So when I am finished you or anyone else can have it, source included to do with as you please.

In fact, it might be nice if you could add Google Traffic, Google Sky, and others to it as I probably won't do that.

It will be a few weeks before I have it ready for anyone.

    Regards,
    Jim

    pierrotm777,

As to how you might help.

As well as C# (and other languages) I also know AutoIt.

Perhaps as I progress we could integrate my work into your excellent work or mine into yours.

Since my work is a DLL, it might be easier to let you use it for additional functions in your package.

But I need to get a little further before that.

In the mean time could I see your code. I certainly would never use it, or change it, or distribute it without your permission.

    PM me with your thoughts.

    Regards,
    Jim

It is not exactly mine code .

This is JohnWPB that gave me the first code and modified it.

I think that you will must to ask to JohnWPB if he accept that i give this code .
If he is ok , I don't see no problem to give you my code.

Yes, the plug-in is in the RRExtension format so it is a DLL written on C#. These will alao be some additional EXE files written in both C# and AutoIt.

I just sent a PM to JohnWPB asking his permission to look at the source your have.

    Regards,
    Jim

Have you started a thread about this so we can follow along.... I think this is an excellent project and await it's completion

The plug-in is built such that if the necessary input values are not with the command, it will present an internal GUI that will include an OSK-like keyboard control. I might also do this with Google widgits in a web-page that can simply be embedded in the users skin but don't know if I want ot make that change. It will also check if there is an Internet connection and if GPS is available.

But, most importantly on the advice of an IPL attorney friend of mine, the output displayed will be the complete Google response web-page so as not to violate any copyrights by Google or it's partners. Extracting data and displaying it is, in his opinion, a copyright violation if complete attribution is not provided. His opinion is, in part, based on reading the Google terms of use.

Additionally, parsing the response HTML, while fun, is a nightmare. The Google Translate and Exchange responses have changed twice in the last few weeks just enough to mess up the RegEx patterns I was using. This is an open invitation for constant update.

So it may not be pretty in its raw form but it will provide the requested function.

    Regards,
    Jim

I have started and the DLL is well along other than an issue with RR and multiple browsers open at the same time. I haven't had time to look at RR code (I only have very old source) so I have asked Guino for his counsel. The end result is that it is a "crap-shoot" as to which one of the browsers gets embedded, if any.

In the meantime, I am looking at using tabs on a single browser and open a new tab/window for each supported function. But that implies a usurping of the RR browser commands to keep things kind of organized. Once I've sorted that issue, the rest should be deciding what to "expose for RR" and implementing that.

On the downside, this may only work with Firefox but since it is a nice, well-behaved app, installing it and having to around should be no problem but I intend looking at least at IE.

    Regards,
    Jim
