Winamp Playlists

Hey Guys

What is the deal with roadrunner/riderunner using pre made playlists from winamp?

I have it set so that my desktop syncs its Music Directory and the winamp app data files so that on every pc i have, my music is always sorted into the same playlists.

I have winamp running on my carpc fine, but i cant seem to find any information about how to get rr to run off winamp playlists.

Is there a way to do this, or am i forced to redo my playlists for rr?

If you load a playlist in winamp, when RR starts it should detect it and use it without you having to do anything. Alternatively, you can use the loadlist command to load the list directly from RR and/or make buttons for different playlists if need be. Having said that, I'm unsure as to what you mean by "i cant seem to find any information about how to get rr to run off winamp playlists".

wimamp has all the playlists in it and works perfectly, i just dont know how do get RR to see them. I have tried a variety of different skins, yet none of them seem to have a "playlist" button that will show a lit of my winamp playlists.

How would i use the loadlist command to get RR to use winamp playlists?

Either put your playlists in your $musicpath$ folder or set $playlistpath$ in rr.ini and use a skin that supports loading playlists thru RR (i.e. DFX).

cheers Sal, that got it to work, now i can see the playlists and load them but they are all named like they are in the app data folder, such as "Plf2a0d" and so on how can i get these to read the actual name like winamp does? (i believe winamp has a text file that tells it what the proper playlist names are.

You'd probably have to rename the files... RR only handles playlists by the filenames.

I tried renaming them through RR, but now the playlists are empty...

through RR ? what do you mean ? does the skin have a rename button for the file ? or how did you do it ? do the renamed playlists still work in winamp ?
