    RR, Winamp, USB Audio Problem

    I just switched to a USB audio solution for my sound, it's an older Creative Labs model, picture here: http://i1.lelong.com.my/UserImages/I...[email protected]

    Winamp works great when RR isn't running, but when I load RR, Winamp gives me errors saying it's unable to write or create the DirectSound buffer, etc. When I go into the output plugin settings for Winamp it says "Device in use (?)" which seems to be the case. I'm not getting any sound from RR either though, the Silabs USB radio doesn't send anything though the USB card either, though thats a lesser concern for me.

    It seems like both RR and Winamp are trying to use the same audio device at the same time and apparently that's not working.

    Any advice on this?

    /edit I think it's a Sound Blaster Connect SB02070.

    RR doesnt manage ANY audio... all RR's audio is done by third party software... ie winamp
    ... wmp....foobar

    now the silabs, dll, manage its own audio... if not using the winamp line in plugin...

    but since you provided no info about OS and rr ver and such... cant tell you anymore info
    -Thanks

    Sorry, WinXP, latest RR build.

    But you just said something that I just figured out. I selected the option to use the line-in for the Radio, now everything else but that works. I think I need to configure the options for that though. Music and GPS are good for now.

    if you use the LINE-IN Plugin, you of course have to have that installed and configured correctly to even use it

    i use it.. i make a preset called silabs

    and the line in param is simple then

    lineinpar=line://preset=Silabs,title=Radio
    -Thanks

    Try Windows 7 Home, external USB device issue will be solved by the OS.
