Full Screen apps automatically minimizing RR?

I'm trying to embed a few apps that start in full screen mode. I get them to embed and start, but when they start they automatically minimize both themselves and RR and sends me to the desktop. Any solutions that I am overlooking? I'm using Win7, latest RR, and eLite skin. Thanks!

RR itself doesn't try to minimize any embedded windows - ever. What it does is try to RESIZE the window to the area you specified for it to embed. The applications in question may be "overreacting" to the fact we're resizing them (when they wanted to run full screen) and this is causing them to stay minimized. Generally, if you want to run a full screen app, I wouldn't bother trying to embed them -- I would only make a button to launch them (And once they close you should be right back at RR).

The only way we could suggest more is if you tell us where we can get one of those apps (even if trial/etc) just to test/look at them.

I'm trying to get 2 games to embed, so when they launch they go fullscreen. I've only ever written the commands to load skin, and load the app in the skin. What would be an example to just load a program, I wouldn't load a skin file with it correct?

I would recommend just making a button to execute the RUN command like "RUN;C:\mygame\mygame.exe" -- if you have many games, you can make a simple screen with several buttons on them to start each game.

When you click it, the game will open full screen (on top of RR) -- when the game closes, it should restore RR right back to where you were.

You can also use the Applications screen for that (following the items in the LAUNCH folder) -- just make INI files and put a window title like "nothing" just so it won't try to embed it. There's also a FAQ on the applications screen.

Well i've tried both ways, a run command, and from the launch screen, no success. It still minimizes both things. If that was supposed to work It may be a setting of in Windows, I'll dig around to see if I can figure something out. If anyone can think of different solutions to try it would be appreciated. Thanks again!

So I think it's just gonna be a compatibility issue with RR. I kept RR running and started the apps from the taskbar and everything worked good, it's just starting them in RR causes some problems. Darn.

if you start them manually (using taskbar or whatever), while RR is running it works normally or it does the same as when RR starts it ? you can also try RUNW if you want -- but RR will be "stopped" until your app closes.

If I start them from the taskbar while RR is running they start up perfect. I can try RUNW, anything just to get it to work. Thanks for the help!

That is very weird, it should start the same way with the run command as starting it from the taskbar (unless the icon on the taskbar uses command line parameters that you're not using on the run command).

Maybe you want to tell us the name of one of the applications so we have an idea of what we're dealing with ?

Sure I have a few that are causing this issue. I have two touchscreen games, monopoly and plants vs zombies, that start in fullscreen. And Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 that also starts in fullscreen.
