XM takes about 3-5 seconds to tune!
thats how the hardware works
longer if you have weak signal!!!!!
When I boot up my carPC, and go directly to XM radio, it takes sometimes 5-10 seconds just to get XM to start playing audio. I could have an MP3 playing with no issues.
I do not get a detection error from RR, so I know the XM radio is detected.
Anyone else have this issue? Its not a machine speed issue by any means.
Any help would be appreciated.

Its not a signal thing. It seems as if maybe its trying to populate the list maybe?
When I used the old version of roadrunner, it didnt ever do this. Ive even formatted, used the basic riderunner install with XM and have the same issue.
Im using the serial cable connection with a Xm direct unit.

ROADRUNNER? like from 2 years ago? XM/SR and all radios are nothing like ROADRUNNER anymore...
when RideRunner starts, it immediatly powers on the XM tuner, and tunes it to last station, then begins channel scan... and loads in channels
if you have the XMChannel Cache enabled, it uses the last completed scan to popluate list
if you start RideRunner and go RIGHT to XM, it will take 2-3 seconds for the tuner to power ON, then will take aprox 3-5 seconds before you HEAR audio... like i said, it takes 3-5 seconds for XM HW to tune, if you dont hear audio that quickly i would suggest you have another issue... 10 seconds seems long, but maybe your tuner is taking that long to tune...
the OLD ROADRUNNER, doesnt even power on the tuner till you go to XM, and that takes long too
