    Riderunner with winamp

Howdy all, I am very new to this whole carputer thing but have been meaning to try it out for ages, well finally got into it but am having grief getting winamp to play music via riderunner.

winamp runs fine by itself in win7, it also runs when i execute riderunner, but when trying to play a track it does nothing, i can bring up the visualization just fine but it refuses to play any tracks. i have tried versions 5.12, 5.24, and 5.58 of winamp, all do the same thing. choosing another music player in riderunner gets it happily playing tracks, so the issue seems related to riderunner + winamp together.

has anyone else had this issue? Have attached my debug if it will help?

    Regards
    Wyatt

I have RR with Winamp running in XP on a VIA PicoITX.
The board has HD Audio and I have loaded the drivers and can get 5.1 channel volume controls though XP Volume Control.

The questions I have are that I would like to know ...
    1. How do I get Winamp to show a Fader control for Front/Rear along with the Volume and Balance controls ?
    2. Do I need to use another Audio player to get 5.1 controls in RR instead of Winamp ?
    3. Is there a RR skin with a Fader control slider in it ?

I have searched for FADER WINAMP through the RR section and have not found anything.
    Thanks,
    Kev.

you know tecnically there is NO fader in 5.1 audio

its front(R/L), sub, center, rear SURROUND(R/L)

your tyring to put car stereo approach to audio to where the PC is made for THEATER

car stereo (the old way) is front r/l and rear r/l, where rear is a copy of front, then sub, which typically is summation of r/l crossed over at say 80-120hz

2 channel audio! (technically audio is 2 channels anyway, music that is [except for some odd DTS audio, movie audio is a different story])

Yeh I know but I can't even get Winamp to show separate volume controls for the rear, sub or centre channels, only the one volume control and one balance control.
In windows I can atleast have the 6 different sliders for individual control of volume on each channel.

I don't have to use Winamp if there is another audio player which supports the separate 6 channels and integrates with RR.

to winamp its just 2 channel audio, all the media players should see it that way
you might want to search the high end audio solutions...
but most onboard audio systems and windows 7 audio system is NOT made for a car
    its made for a theater

there is a output plugin for winamp, that i believe gives you control where its audio goes and levels
but im not sure... this one of the big delimas in carpc, the AUDIO!

I don't use it, but you can see if this gets you what you want:

depending on snd drivers, you could try
making a scrn that has custom sliders on it and using "Front", "Rear", ect for the code. Turn on rr debug and look to see what is listed near the top of the log for what rr can control, line wise.
