Is there anyway to use xm from another soundcard?

So I use a usb soundcard for my music output. I am wondering if I can connect my xm direct to the onboard soundcard's line input and use it and be able to have the music come through the usb soundcard? Anyone know? If so how can I do this? Thanks in advance

Yes, that's quite simple.. I do that myself (the other way around, but same principle). Just install line-in plugin for winamp, open it's configuration and do the wizard thing on it specifying the card you want to record from.. once it adds the item to the playlist copy/paste the url item (linein://... info) into RRConfig's line in setting for XM after enabling it. When RR starts XM it will start the line in plugin with those settings and it should playback to your default audio card setup in winamp (same one playing mp3s) -- that should be all.

I got this all set up and working, but it doesn't mute with the .net phone plugin.

    sounds likely

im not familiar with the .net phone plugin, i have no idea what it does
    and how it mutes things

i assume audio of the phone comes though pc, so it cant mute the master

one of the problems here is rr's lack of complete audio management

but you know, since your using the line in plugin, can u set up .net phone plugin to do a pause?
    -Thanks

.net phone plugin send pause or radiomute depending of source. Sounds like radiomute doesn't mute your XM radio and RR can't mute your onboard input line because your usb sound card is default device.

Try using "PAUSE||WAIT;0.2||MOBILEPHONE_PICKUP" for your pickup button, and "MOBILEPHONE_HANGUP||WAIT;0.2||RESUME" for your hangup button. Works fine for me.
