cant remove songs from database?

Hi I am running the latest ride runner with dfx 5.03 and have 19752 songs. If I remove 10 songs and rescind db the scan results show 19742 dogs so it looks like they are removed except it doesn't report any songs have been removed from the db??? When I go to ny entire collection after the scan it shows 19752 songs again. If I go to play one of the removed songs it just sits there doing nothing. I am using Winamp as the player.

I would say turn on the RRMedia debug options. With RR running, right click the RRmedia icon in the system tray and Open storepath locaton, then open up the RRMediadb.ini file.

Set both of the debug options to true under the [General] section, save, close. Then close and restart RR.

Go thru same process as you posted above then Attach a zip of all the xx_debug.txt files found also in the same folder that the ini file was.

Two things, first gonna need you to redo this w/ some updated files. You should have had a builder debug log as well but i don't see one. I will attach more up to date files for you to use and then repost the debug files again using the new files.

No, I posted in another thread a newer RRMediaDb.exe but i want to make sure that you also are using the newset builder too..

Use these files. You should be getting three debug files:
RRMedia(Ext PI)_debug.txt
RRMedia(Main)_debug.txt
RRMedia(Builder)_debug.txt

If by chance you have the older RRMeda files (v1.2.2), you should get rid of them.
Unregister the following files:
RRMediadb.dll - RR's root (C:\Program Files\RideRunner)
SQLite3.dll - C:\Program Files\RideRunner\RMDatabase\Support Files
Cddbcontrol.dll - C:\Program Files\RideRunner\RMDatabase\Support Files
Then delete the whole RMDatabase folder.

Hi blue.....this is turning unit a bit of a nightmare...
Rrmediadb.dll is in plugins/rrmedia
Sqlite3.dll is in skins/dfx5/browser/xulrunner
Cddbcontrol.dll is in plugins/rrmedia/support files

And I don't have a folder called rmdatabase to delete anywhere on my hard disk....

I am on xp if it helps and do I just do what u said with these files in the locations I have?

Update...
I completely removed dfx and left over files...fresh install and did another full db scan and it still says I have the 19752 songs even though I really have about 100 less than that as I have deleted them. The files you sent are exactly the same as what I have installed.....

Well, the only one different really should be the RRMediadb.exe as I have added better debugging info for tracking issues. To make sure that a complete fresh scan, would be to delete the RRMedadb.db file in your root musicpath, as that is where the database is located at. I could see being maybe a few file count different, but certainly not a 100 different. If everything is working fine execpt the odd count, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Not worth the time to investigate otherwise....

Hi Blue,

I have to honestly say that this is really so important to me that it is a dealbreaker! I have around 20,000 songs & an awful lot of them are compilation albums. I have in the past with CF been using the delete button as I go along to reduce my "Car Music Collection" The problem I have is that until you release the delete song in your next update I am deleting the songs manually outside of RR & am unable to get the RR Database to match the actual songs on the hard disk & when as song that I have deleted comes to play on RR, it just sits there until I select the next song.... I really really do not want to appear to be making demands or ungrateful its just that the media side of the front end is critical to me & the reason I swapped from CF in the first place. Is it possible that you could give a guideline as to when the delete song button will be included so I can make a decision please? just a rough pointer that's all....
