Was thinking Mitch, maybe a way to pass a command for a time limit on a relay, say something like Trigger1On;5 would trigger relay #1 on for 5 seconds. This would be useful mostly for controlling windows and such. Trigger2On;.25 would trigger the relay on for .25 seconds, for power door locks. I am sure there are other uses, but with the time passed to the relay, it's open to a lot of possibilities.

It would be far cleaner than Trigger1On||Wait;5||Trigger1Off

If No parameter is sent, then just toggle on / off as directed.

sure possible... i look to add timed pulses in a revision, right now i want to get these out to the public :0

for power windows, i would not directly control a window... use a power window module
i would try to only do roll up or down, not anything inbetween, just to ugly on a touch screen (specially while driving)
    -Thanks

Anyone make one of these for Windows? I'm getting something similar, and more commercialized, for controlling LED warning lights for my vehicle, but would much rather have a cheaper, simpler solution.

Touchscreen??? I was thinking more on the lines of just saying "Put the windows up"

I think he may mean for windows, EA, no front end required. Possibly by sending commands from a batch file / command line or something?

    hehe... maybe...
but thats why i have a .dll for it, you can use it in your own applications if one wants to

yes, for put the windows up, you should NOT drive a relay directly for that, a simple directed electronics window module (530t) will do, then the USB-IO-1 would tell that to roll em up

Just came up with another great Idea for this! I added a circuit for a low fuel warning to my Fiero, as it was not a factory option. It lights up a "Low Fuel" light in the dash. (The circuit has a potentiometer that lets you set the gallons left in the tank before it alerts you, I am setting it at 2 gallons, roughly a 50 mile warning).

I am going to split the positive side from that light to one of the inputs on the IO ports. This way, when the car gets low on fuel, it can speak "Fuel level low" or something, and with a pop-up have the opportunity to navigate to a gas station, if you ignore the pop-up it will just go away in a few seconds.

Lots of cool stuff can be done with this device

yeah john but thats why carpc's is just about the best hobby ever. its challenging but not impossible, the things you can do is limitless and ever changing, and you can actually use it to make life easier every single day. most hobbies are either money pits or time wasters. carpc's eats money and time, but it also improves the quality of your life sometimes.

Can you use this device to sense 12V (ACC) and turn on/off a relay?
Does the software have the ability to auto trigger a relay on startup or do you have to manually click a button in the GUI each time?

    Ohh and one more..

CarPC gets turned on, device turns on with USB power. Does the relay turn on straight away or does it need to wait for the software to communicate aka windows loaded up.

Reason I ask is, I want to trigger a remote wire for the amps. It should turn on every boot but only once windows is up so I don't get the "thump". I also want it to turn that relay off when it looses ACC on the digital input.

I know the Fusion Brain can do what I want but the are out of stock everywhere, so hoping this can.

You can just use a plain old relay with no software to do that
Build Things, it keeps your brain busy.
