I don't see how.. Not unless I buy a timed relay. Then I have to deal with getting the exact timing and the possibility of the CarPC booting quicker one time. I'm doing it this way to avoid the thump you get if your amps are on before your PC.

skitlz, you can control the relay via SOFTWARE...
yea... it needs software to tell it to turn on a relay...
it wont do it just because
if you want amp turn on, then your FE sw can tell the usb-io-1 to turn on a relay
in Ride Runner, piece of cake
    in Centrafuse, piece of cake
    -Thanks

Thanks for the response. So For the relay 1 to turn on it with ACC connected to digital input 1 it would have to meet two conditions.

    1. The PC is booted and software is talking with the device
    2. 12+V is detected on the digital input.

Do you have plans to update your CF plugin to 3.5 anytime soon? That will be a deal breaker.

sure, u could do it that way, or just use the amp turn on option i did in CF, which is if CF is running relay is on...

its been 3.5 since a day or so after 3.5 been released

Great thanks. I did check out the Centrafuse forums and your website. Didn't see 3,5 posted.

As for why I'm wanting to do it this way, I have a 10min delay on the CarPC for short trips etc so it's not constantly shutting down too quick. But I don't need all the amps etc on while I'm in the store. So even though CF is still running, I want it to kill the relay for the amps when there is no ACC.

That's my reasoning. Looks I'll place an order for one of these come monday. Seems to do what I need it too.

One last thing though. When CF shuts down, or the computer crashes lets say. Will the relay automatically close or does it stay open? I'm guessing it is drawing the power to trip the relay from the USB port but I wasn't sure so figured I'd ask.

it the computer crashes, the relay would prob be the same state it is when it crashed

just wire your ACC though the relay, no need to mess with an Input
    -Thanks

Hmm.. That scares me a bit. The potential for a relay to get stuck open..

I would just wire the ACC straight through the relay but I'm not sure if my draw is too high with 3 amplifiers.

your using as turn on for the amp, turnon for amplifers draw miliamps! good amps 1ma or less

no relay wouldnt get stuck open, if in normally open, dont let the computer crash... id say thats the least of your worries
besides when you turn off the key, accessory is gone
    -Thanks

Didn't realize the draw was that low.. Ok sounds like the simplest option. Appreciate the help. Your products definitely feel a little more "polished" than a lot of the other forum based/built. Appreciate the work.

Sorry my last post was before you edited the previous post. I use my frontend and MJS-IO to trigger the amp relay. Also have buttons designed into the front end to manually turn it off if need be.
